Lovely market great food stalls. BUT do not go near the cake stall, I was charged £12, yes £12 for 3 pieces of banna bread. I was so shocked I was speechless!!

WONDERFUL TOTNES MARKET-OPEN -13th, 14th and 15th JANUARY 2023 Plus all the shops found it easy to park 7th JAN, even though the street was dug up in places. Bought some great secondhand utensils. Had a dosa lunch from Kumar and hot chocolate from the Lighthouse Cafe- GREAT FRIENDLY SERVICE. SO WELCOMING!

Soul-less location in what looks like a concrete overhang meant for car parking and out of place in a once pretty old town like Totnes - council planning departments certainly have a lot to answer for. We normally love markets (Wells is our favourite) but the comments about the New Ageness are true. Mainly Vegan type food and a little horribly overpriced handmade stuff, so not much use for Christmas gift shopping. A very pushy woman determined to get us to taste some split pea concoction out of some flask, god knows who else had been using the same thing for this. I'm immunocompromised which is hard to explain so my partner just said I had allergies for ease sake and sampled it himself to keep her happy. The woman made a sarcastic comment as if I was lying. We were polite to her but she really did not deserve it. This location is poor, and a nicer more varied market could be located down near the river where it is picturesque. Market organisers could perhaps look at a better tourist experience than this, Totnes is a lovely historic town and deserves better.

From once a charming Devon market town it’s now a scruffy and tatty refuge for what were once New Age travellers who are now old aged settlers. The town square has been neglected over recent years with sporadic dollops of tarmac replacing missing block stonework and surrounded by bad planning permission examples of 1960, 70,80’s building mistakes. The good news is that there are plenty of cafes to choose from, if you like lentils, quality cream teas sadly don’t exist . There are also plenty of shops, if you like secondhand clothes. In fact most residents seem to be wearing each other’s ill fitting attire. Top tip, if you decide to wear long trousers make sure they stop 6 inches above your shoes, otherwise you just look stupid. Tatnes looks like a great place to raise your family though, assuming your kids are called either Willow, Rainbow or Puck.

How times change. Totnes used to be a lovely quintessentially west country town. Now it's turning in to the Brighton of the west and we all know what a dump that place is. A great shame

Didn’t know the market was on so great find. We parked in the car park by the market which I’m glad to say still uses real money. Lots of different stalls food produce, bric a brac, plants & lots more.

Pay n display, as most people you carry a few spare coins for parking the car but when you run out and need more coins where do you go ??????????? A shop to get some change but you may be asked to purchase something too , a normal high street bank like the black horse in the town , totnes , I wanted to exchange a £20.00 note for coins but they totally refused me on the grounds I needed to have a bank account ( just to swap notes for coins ) they advised me to try the post office but even they needed there coins for customers so I was refused again . The car parks in totnes do not accommodate anyone with bank cards as machines are not updated. Sooooooo does the average tourist have to visit another town . TOTNES needs to join the year 2021 and keep up

We stumbled across the Market on Friday whilst visiting Totnes, what a lovely little gem.... such friendly people and the most stunning array of street food! The stalls are all unique and high quality and very continental feeling, definatley worth a wander round.

Didn't know the market was on so it was a great surprise. Lots of stalls that were very different than the normal run of the mill and a really good variety of street food. Definitely worth a visit.

Totnes Market is on every Friday and Saturday from 08.45 to 16.30 All year round. Very full and varied market. A great place to spend some time whilst visiting Totnes. Something for everyone at affordable prices.Happy Traders who are more than happy to serve . I would whole heartedly recommend you visit.
