“Amazing Day Out - If you think you've know Victory, think again!”

Amazing Day Out - If you think you've know Victory, think again!

Better than I ever imagined. I had previously visited HMS Victory almost 50 years ago and that was a nice day out. I’ve just visited again, but now it took my breath away. The audio guide takes the tour to a whole new level. Better than a radio drama, as you move through the ship you experience the battle of Trafalgar and appreciate the hard lives and sacrifices the sailors made. I was truly moved by the presentation and have been telling anyone that will listen what a great day out it was. We bought the Ultimate Explorer Tickets – taking advantage of Tesco Club Card points - and what a bargain it was. We were there for three full days and still haven’t visited all there is to be seen; HMS Victory is just part of this amazing, awe inspiring complex. I highly recommend it, it's one of the best museums I have ever been to. Up Pompey, we will return.

Breathtaking.

Had the pleasure of boarding this ship when visiting Portsmouth. This ship was worth the entrance money alone.
When you enter you get offered an audio device which gives you a detailed account of what happened on the part of the ship where you are.
I left HMS Victory with a lot of respect for the men on that ship with the low ceilings, noise of cannons going off etc , who had fight on that ship and their never say die attitude.
A truly wonderful experience.

Loved our visit to this living history. The audio tour is excellent. We did this as part of a three attraction ticket with the Mary Rose and the submarine. Such a memorable day. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

Wonderful ship to visit, so interesting to walk round in ones own time with the audio guide and to take in all the little bits of information . It is so informative and the time to take it all in properly is far more than they recommend!

A very good day out

Was initially a bit disappointed as the ship is undergoing a big renovation so was covered in a massive tent! The outside was not like you would think with the cannons showing etc. But inside was brilliant, and yes you could still go up on deck. So much history and still in commission!! very helpfull staff and very friendly and knowledgeable. Will definately go back.

Well worth visiting

Have visited HMS Victory a few times over the years but never seem to be able to spend quality time as usually with others - so this time I visited on my own! I used one of the free audio guides and have to say it was really easy to use and although there are around 35 different listening posts around the ship, commentaries are short and informative. I’m not taller than average height and the majority of interior deck heads are low and so you need to be careful wandering around, plus there are steep stairs to negotiate. Currently the hull is covered due to extensive work being carried out but it didn’t spoil my overall enjoyment. Afterwards it’s well worth having a look round the exhibition hall opposite as there’s a lot more information and artefacts from HMS Victory, as well as an upstairs area displaying ships Figureheads and an outside viewing balcony.
