The race that was happening in our Deer Park is a small local run which takes place each year and is organised by the Ledbury Harriers. I have sent your review to them but if you wanted to email us on enquiries@eastnorcastle.com, we could pass your details on to them so that they could respond to you. The behaviour you describe does not sound appropriate and you should not have been spoken to in this way. I must apologise that the Sweet Treat Box you pre-ordered had a price on it; this should not have happened. This is the first time we have offered pre-ordered Treat Boxes and there was obviously some confusion behind the scenes. We will be discussing this internally to ensure it doesn't happen again. I am pleased you enjoyed the cake and hot drinks and hope you return for a more relaxing walk in the near future.

Thank you for taking the time to review Eastnor Castle and we’re sorry you had a disappointing visit. We are however a little confused by your review as the contents of it are in stark contrast to nearly all of our other 5-star reviews. Our grounds are maintained impeccably by a dedicated and hard-working team; it would be beneficial to us if you’re able to give an example of how the grounds are poorly maintained as this is not the view of ourselves or the vast majority of our visitors. Equally, we have dedicated litter pickers working on the days we are open to visitors so we’re not sure how the bins could have been overflowing with litter. There are signs indicating the way around the lake and all visitors are given a grounds map on arrival. The lake is very prominent within the grounds and it’s a very simple path which leads all the way around it. We have guides in each of the rooms inside the castle, ready to talk to visitors, and we also have room notes which visitors are welcome to pick up and read as they walk round. Finally, our pricing. At £13 for an adult ticket, we certainly wouldn’t class ourselves as expensive. We in fact pride ourselves on being exceptional value for money, being a similar entrance price to local National Trust properties and notably cheaper than other castles in the area.
