Absolutely disgusted with the parking people!!!!
I came at 7:40 am and was looking where I can pay, then found a sign which says “park opens at 8:30” sat back in my car at 8:30, but probably they counted those 2 bloody minutes for me and my dog leaving thestupod car park!!!!!!!!! 70£ penalty for 1.5 minute!!!!

I would not bother going at all. unless you like a boring walk. personally, it was no good. nothing good to do. I just did not enjoy my time there. I left pretty quickly. no nice places to eat. dirty toilets. it needs a lot of work. needs a nice place to eat, a nice place to drink and to improve the nature parts. get some good equipment in. get nice viewing points. I used to do this as a child and went to some good places. Those places had way more going for them. this place...nothing. I would say...this area...no good.

Walked from Ramsgate to the Pegwell Bay nature reserve (and back). Bascially followed the coast path. Glorious day. Had a rest at the Viking Cafe at Cliff End. It's a fairly easy walk - no major hills. Very peaceful. Fresh air. Bird song. About 5 miles there, 5 miles back.

It's ok for a walk, not much to see unless you're a twitcher. Beware that there are ANPR parking cameras there and the parking charges are £4-5 an hour. Park next to the petrol station down the road and walk from there, or park opposite the entrance.

Not one to write reviews really but here goes I've visited the salty seal cafe at pegwell nature reserve on numerous occasions now both with family & work colleagues & to be honest can't fault it there's a great nature walk with a number of wild birds, pony's & fruit trees & a lovely little play area for young children aswell as probably the best kept public toilets your likely to find & mick(the owner of the salty seal) has always provided a very high standard of both food & service which is only out done by the incredible bay views & seal sightings & I'd have no problems in recommending the salty seal to anyone looking for somewhere to eat GREAT FOOD GREAT LOCATION FAMILY FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT all found here well worth a visit 5*

The so called refreshment or concession place is a joke, the last time we visited he closed early due to what he said was a power cut. We went again today and guess what he was telling people the he would have to leave as he had no power!!! However just before he left I heard him tell another council worker( garbage collector) that he was leaving because his dog was alone indoors, this was at 1.45 in the afternoon, we spent a further 2 hours or so sitting in the grounds and witnessed at Least 30 to 40 cars turn up and leave as they probably wanted a drink or snack. The man is obviously lazy and a liar so why not give the concession stand to someone who would actually stay open and serve the people.

We visited the nature park on the spur of the moment... very good decision!
Very cheap car parking... £1.50 for most days, £2 for Sundays.
Very pleasant area to walk around.... paths easy to follow... three routes you could take of varying lengths to suit the time you wanted to spend.
Area for picnics and a cafe selling drinks/snacks etc.
Having walked around the longest route... took us about 40 minutes...we could even see the seals in the distance on a sand bank as the tide was out... we then walked to the base of the cliffs in the opposite direction... the light was continually changing and was fascinating to see on the cliffs and sea.
We spent over three hours at the nature park and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and did 12 000 steps!

We visited here during the week for a walk with our 2 dogs. It was easy to find, with clear signage and then when we arrived we found that there was ample amounts of parking. The meters in the car park take both cash and payment through an app. Which is great as we never have any change on us! The walk was very peaceful, lots of things to explore and maps to double check where you were heading. There was dog waste bags along the way. The only things we notice that was some of the wood and nature parts were shut off or locked. This May have been due to time of year or there may be some conservation work going on. Not to sure. But def will be back as we would like to explore more and next time I am taking my proper camera. Recommend this walk.

We visited the nature reserve whilst on a trip to Pegwell Bay. The Pegwell Bay area looks out from a stretch of grassed land overlooking the sea and is a nice area for a walk or recreational purposes. There is a good amount of (free) car parking here, a café and public toilets. Also here the visitors will find the Viking Ship ‘Hugin’ a recreation of a 9th century Danish oared ship.
After some refreshments from the café, we took a walk along the coast passing the remains of the former hovercraft terminal on the sands below and onto the shallows which make an ideal feeding ground for wading birds.
Whilst taking the walk, the visitor can enjoy fine views over the sea and almost back into Ramsgate harbour which is just behind the curved headland.

Hi, do you have to pay apart from parking one review said about paying £7.50 at toll booth could not see any charges on reserve website

its about 3-4 per day ..at machines...the place you maybe thinking of is the access to Sandwich Bay private estate..the ones with the golf courses....this is further along..access is near the old power station
