We viewed the Humber Bridge from Hessle Foreshore. An excellent location to take photos. A nice walk too.

Good views from the drive or walk across and there is plenty of parking at the end if you want to spend mre time there taking in the sights. For me tolls on roads and bridges are madness, we pay enough in taxes thatthey shoud be free; and motorists have been paying for years to use this bridge so even if tax does no go direct to road provision "we" must have paid many tmes over for the building of this beautiful crossing. Be sure to get in the left lane if you don't have a tag or you will have to hope some kind driver will let you in as you near the payment booths.

Tom and I drove across the bridge twice, paying a hefty £3 return, but you only live once. This is definitely one of my favourite bridges. I'd say the Clifton Suspension Bridge tops it, but it is a close call. The views are just breathtaking. I think we will make the 3 hour round trip again to cross this bridge again.

We parked at the viewing point and sat on a bench to take in the beautiful view of this bridge that crosses the Humber. Built in the 1980's it is possible to walk across it and the toll for cars is £1.50. It was interesting seeing it fairly close up and the fact that the traffic seemed so quiet. The parking is free and there toilets and a cafe too.

Lots of parking at the south side of the bridge, so you can get lots of photos along the river path.
I wanted to walk over the bridge and back, so I easily found somewhere to park (just under the bridge itself on the south side), and the start of the path is easy to find.
The walk across was well worth it, but you must have a head for heights, and don’t mind the noise of the cars.
When I went (April 23), the east side pathway was closed, so I walked there and back on the west side. It’s about 1.5 miles each way with a slight incline on your journey north, but all flat and down hill on your way back.
Just keep an eye out for cyclists who seem to think they have right of way (which signs point out that pedestrians actually have the right of way).
I recommend the walk… ticked off my bucket list.

We just walked across the bridge and back to take in the views. Something around a 2.5 mile round trip. Unfortunately only one of the walkways was open today - we'd hoped to go one way and come back the other so we'd see the views from both sides.
At the Hessle end there is free parking at the country park, and it is clearly signed from there.

Fair enough 1.50 toll fee it's not bad. But I hate the ques that form especially peak time maybe they could monitor the busy times to have more staff on ?

Interesting structure with nice riverside walks in both banks. There’s a cafe and public loos at the viewing area on the South side.

Hello, last time I went over the bridge from Yorkshire to Lincolnshire we tried to stop for lunch in the visitor centre. But we were in a Motorhome and there was a hight bar across the car park. The road was full of cars and no parking was available by the river side. Where can you park a motorhome for a rest break?

It is better to pay up, as you will be fined, so just like the other reviewer said, look on the website, and enter your details etc... the sooner the better, fines are never cheap.... hope this helps......

Hi I have checked on the website, the crossing is £ 1.50 for towing your caravan, for a single crossing.... as Sarah said in the previous reply to you, but I did check on the website just incase the price had changed...... hope this helps....

Planning to park on the North Bank and walk to the South bank. Are there toilets on both sides of the bridge? Is there a cafe on both sides? Can I walk across on one side of the bridge, go under it and walk back on the other side? Any helpful tips? Thanks a lot.

Loads of parking on North Bank and toilets, no similar facilities in South Bank, but we tend to walk a little further to the visitor centre at Barton, the facilities there are excellent, including food. Just for info, you can walk and go under to come back on the opposite side, but they sometimes have one side closed for remedial work & you may choose to do the same path depending on wind strength on the day - enjoy!
