Not worth the price
I had read that it wasn’t worth the money but still wanted to experience this music museum
Some things were interesting like the outfits and the hand written song lyrics of some artists
All in all we were in there for less than an hour
I do think it’s overpriced for what you actually got to see
Maybe If the big screen had more informative information and facts we would have been in there longer They could make this experience a lot more exciting if the effort was put in
I’m glad I went but my partner said well that was crap and a waste of money

Thanks for visiting, and for leaving your review. We're sorry if you felt that your experience wasn't good value for money. Please remember that your ticket is an annual pass, so you are welcome to revisit our award winning visitor attraction as many times as you like over the next 12 months.
On your next visit, please do check out our big screen, which has regular stage shows, and currently has lots of interesting facts playing constantly supplied by our friends at the Official Charts company all about Eurovision entries across the years. Our current temporary exhibition which took almost 6 months to curate, including getting 2022 Eurovision Winners, the Kalush Orchestra, to send their winning costumes directly from the Ukraine, sits alongside never before displayed outfits from ABBA Voyage, and Sam Ryder's 2022 Eurovision costume, and is just one of the regular temporary exhibitions we put together for our guests. Don't forget, that with your annual pass, you will be able to see our next, as yet unannounced temporary exhibition, due to start after the Summer. So, watch this space.
On top of our 600+ artefacts, and 90+ hours worth of digital content, fun hours of fun, make sure that on your next visit to check out our Dance the Decades booth, and our guitars, drums and keyboards, all available to play in our Gibson Interactive Studio. Each of which comes with a tutorial, or you can even have a jam with one of our amazing Crew, who love to talk music, and look forward to welcoming you next time you're in Liverpool.

For quite a hefty admission price we were slightly underwhelmed by what was on offer. The central exhibits we faced when entering where ABBA on one side and the Ukraine Eurovision winners outfits on the other side. The central big screen was showing the history of the Eurovision song contest.. this entrance really lowered expections of what would be a British music experience.Things picked up when we we found the interactive Gibson corner where you could try your hand with numerous guitars and an electronic drum kit, listening through headphones as you did so.there is very little or nothing or lots of our music icons that i was expecting to see(Rolling Stones, Freddy Mercury,Tom Jones, Elton John, Cliff Richard and the Beatles) that has been popular for decades. Overall the experience to our group seemed to be an in-coherent collection of random costumes/memorabilia in nice display cabinets and fancy building.

Thanks for visiting, and for leaving your review. You were lucky enough to visit us when our Eurovision temporary exhibition was on display, as it will be throughout the Summer, after Liverpool hosted one of the biggest events in its history recently, in the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest Finals. This exhibition is one of our regularly updated temporary displays, which with your annual pass ticket, you will be able to see our upcoming displays later in the year. This is yet to be announced, so watch this space.
We're sorry if you missed our extensive Queen display, and stage-worn artefacts from both The Beatles and Elton John, as well as our Cliff Richard and Rolling Stones content, which feature in both our 600+ artefacts and 90+ hours of digital content. Make sure to ask our excellent Crew about them on your next visit, along with checking out our regular stage shows, which celebrate live music from British artists. We also have our ever-popular Dance the Decades booth and Gibson Interactive Studio, where you can try your hand at Gibson guitars, or Roland drums and keyboards, all with full tutorials.
We look forward to your next visit.

Essentially the British equivalent of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the States. Seeing the Return of the Spice Girls tour outfits, and Sam Ryder's Eurovision outfit, was really cool, as were Gary Kemp (Spandau Ballet)'s handwritten lyric sheets for Gold and True. But I was left feeling really underwhelmed.
They touch on each era of British music, but they only touch on each. For instance, teen pop of the 90s and 00s deserved more than a set of Spice Girls outfits, the Spice Girls Barbies, and a bunch of Boyzone CD singles (???). It seems like a museum that's just begun to develop its collection, but apparently it's 14 years old. It definitely ought to have more by now.

Thanks for visiting, and for leaving your review. We're sorry that you were expecting more. As your ticket is an annual pass, on your next visit make sure to check out our 90+ hours of digital archives which go much deeper into the social and political circumstances of the day, and include clips of the artists talking about music, how it has influenced them, and how their music came to be. The digital content is displayed alongside over 600+ artefacts on show in our galleries.
We also host regular temporary exhibitions, such as our current Eurovision exhibition, after Liverpool hosted the 2023 final. Your annual pass is valid for entry to these exhibitions also, and fans of 90s pop should keep an eye on our socials for what's to come!
Make sure on your next visit to speak to our award-winning Crew, who are always happy to help to enrich the conversation around music, and can also help to play yourself in our Gibson Interactive Studio, and why not have a dance in our Dance the Decades booth.
We look forward to seeing you again.

I simply loved my visit to the British Music Experience. For fans of music, of all ages, it really is a must see attraction. Set in a perfect location, by the River Mersey, it is spacious, well appointed and totally comfortable. It is chock full of fascinating memorabilia, stories, artefacts, and interactive stuff. There's also a souvenir shop and cafe. The staff are welcoming, friendly & helpful. I can heartily recommend a visit to the British Music Experience, as you will not be disappointed.

As part of A weekend in Liverpool we went to the theatre on Saturday evening then Sunday morning we went to the British Music Experience.
Probably the best entry fee I’ve ever bought.
What a fascinating exhibition.
Too many incredible pieces to tell you about. So the only advice I can give is GO ALONG TO SEE IT if you’re in Liverpool.
The staff are fantastic too. Thank you for an amazing visit.

If you're a big music fan, or even just a small one, this place is excellent!
So many amazing things to see and pieces of history including memorabilia and costumes. Well worth the price and luckily it comes with an annual pass as we didn't check the closing times and so only did half the exhibit - we just came back the next day and finished it off!
Staff are great and the coffee shop is a welcome place to chill after.

We bought the Liverpool Pass which included the BME. Otherwise the entrance fee was 19 pounds.
I have to admit for being a bit underwhelmed by the overall experience. There's some interesting artefacts but there's a lack of anything in-depth information wise.
There are some interactive displays - playing some instruments and there's a dance booth which is fun.
The part I disliked the least were the boards with year-by-year information. There are a lot of years on each and only one person at a time can use it. If you want to see all the information you'd be at each one for a long time with other people waiting to have a go. The manoevre wheel was clunky. I think this should be redesigned.
Overall I spent about an hour in the total exhibition.

We're glad you enjoyed our Dance the Decades and Gibson interactive Studios. We're sorry that you didn't like the interactive timelines. If you visited us in our extremely busy Eurovision period, you may want to revisit us at a quieter time, when the the timelines are more accessible. There are 8 of them in our galleries, and you are correct, along with other interactive displays, they contain over 90 hours of digital content, and go very in-depth into the socio-political history of the country and how it and the music of the day were so heavily linked. Often our guests will spend a lot of time reading these displays, and for those who prefer to chat, our wonderful Crew are always on hand, and their passion and knowledge of music is incredible. They are one of the main reasons that we have won so many awards for our visitor experience over recent years.
Make sure to check out our regular stage shows and temporary exhibitions on your next visit to the BME. We look forward to seeing you.

Booked the BME for the viewing of the grand final of Eurovision. Had a look around in the afternoon at their incredible collection of music memorabilia. Excellent venue. Staff were superb. Friendly and welcoming especially Paul in the sparkly hat. Bar prices were very reasonable. Located I. The iconic Cunard building.

Visited with a small group of friends while attending the EuroVillage during Eurovision week. This is a gem of an exhibition, we are glad we took the time to take a look. The galleries were intuitively laid out, and a map provided at the beginning helped us find our way around. Every display was fascinating, including eras that were before our time, and genres we hadn't known much about beforehand.
The Gibson lab was great, and staff in this section were especially attentive and helpful. More friendly staff helped us in the shop, and engaged us in fascinating conversation and answered our questions about the building, Eurovision, the exhibition itself and more!
An absolute must-see for any music fan!

Disappointing considering the entrance fee. What they had was interesting to see but I found myself thinking "is this it?". I know I can go back within a year but that doesn't really justify the ticket price.
Major parts of British Music History missing in my view. I didn't see any reference to Pink Floyd (except The Wall, which was nothing to do with the band), Rolling Stones, Genesis, Dire Straits - all significant contributions to British Music in the past 30 years.

Thanks for visiting and for leaving your review. We're sorry that you didn't feel that your ticket was value for money, but as your ticket is an Annual Pass, on your return you may be able to look at our 600+ artefacts, 90+ hours of digital content covering almost 80 years of British music history. We also have our temporary exhibitions (currently Eurovision-related), regular stage shows, Dance the Decades booth, and Gibson Interactive Studio where you can play genuine Gibson guitars, plus keyboards and drums, all with tutorials for every level of experience.
As a not-for-profit charity, we often rely on donations from artists for the artefacts we proudly display, and those who have not donated items can be found in our fantastically curated digital content.
We also have our amazing, and multiple award-winning Crew, who are always keen to talk about your favourite artists, and especially those whose artefacts we aren't able to display, so when you do return with your annual pass, they'll be happy to help.
We'll see you soon.

Hi,
So sorry I didn't see your message!
