Sexist behaviour from the bar manager.
Went to the bar several times on my own and had no issues being served by the female bar staff.
Went to the bar once and was stood there for approx 10 minutes before a group of women stood next to us and was served within 10 seconds with the male bar manager who has a beard and is approx 5 foot 8 had shots with these women whilst on shift.
I rightly so questioned why they were served and he kicked off with no explanation and he said come down here and pointed towards the end of the bar. I followed him down and he was still shouting and led me towards the bottom of the stairs, he was telling the bouncers to get rid of me and my girlfriend who had done NOTHING.
I explained this behaviour to Kesh who was a manager of the bouncers and he actually apologised for his behaviour and gave me his personal number and explained that I should come back to give them another chance.
Not a chance in hell will I come back to a place where the bouncers are more courteous than the staff in the bar.
Disgusting behaviour which led to my girlfriend actually crying. Power trip gone wrong.

We had no intention of going into this bar as it was downstairs and you couldn’t see what it was like inside.
A friendly doorman suggested a visit as it wasn’t too busy.
Had a fantastic night. Really nice barman chatted us through his various favourite gins. Let us smell them and was really professionally attentive. Not pushy, just helpful, confirming that we shouldn’t pick any of those he suggested if we didn’t fancy them.
We did and they were lovely. We were with our sister and partner who were spending the weekend with us from London. After a really poor experience with Ex-Directory this place more than made up for it.
We stayed for an hour, went for a pre booked dinner at Mowgli and immediately returned for another two hours. Great vibe, great music, great atmosphere, staff and drinks.
You won’t be disappointed.

There were four of us visiting Liverpool from Plymouth and we stumbled across the Underground Gin Society by chance .
We went in and were greeted by Alan the bar manager who was so helpful in helping us select our drinks , giving us many samples to try .
After we finished our first round of drinks he gave us all a shot of a coffee liqueur which was delightful.We had another round of drinks and told him we’d be returning tomorrow as it was my wife’s birthday
We returned the following night (Friday ) and Alan and the staff instantly recognised us and sat us down and took our drinks order, he brought them over and insisted they were on the house and hoped we were having a great time for my wife’s birthday, more coffee liqueurs followed and another round of ( paid for)drinks
The bar and staff were so accommodating , a proper Scouse welcome all of the staff so helpful and friendly
I can’t praise this place highly enough

Booked a table and the staff couldn’t be more helpful, all the staff where lovely and I couldn’t recommend this bar enough!!

Got the most amazing service from Nikita! Made us feel so welcome, very chatty and made sure we were all okay. Such a polite girl, such a credit to your bar. Will definitely be coming again!!!

This place needs to take social distancing safety measures seriously.
We arrived after booking a table which wasn’t ready on our ‘time slot’ arrival as was still occupied, told to wait in narrow hallway alongside ‘walk ins’ queuing up behind us.
Organisation seemed chaotic and badly managed. Serving staff don’t wear masks,
When we eventually were seated we were in close proximity to two separate groups of about 8 females who got up dancing and touching in close contact, spurred on by the loud banging music, no attempt by staff to separate the group.
The music is so loud here there is no chance of a conversation unless you shout.
We walked out feeling exposed, vulnerable and unsafe.
Don’t visit here if you value your safety.

Want to start by saying how this review is not being left against the bar itself but the fact it hires staff that are so rude and abrupt. On arrival me and 3 friends didn’t have a table booked, however the staff on the door was more than accommodating. Allowing us to have a spare table up until it was reserved in a couple of hours. We were taken to the table & a bar maid called Beth come over to us and told us we were not able to sit there as it is not for us. We explained we knew we could only have the table until 10.30pm. Throughout the time in the bar the barmaid rudely “served” with a snarl. When being served by another barmaid (wish I’d of got her name) she apologised on Beths behalf as it was appalling the way we were being treated. At 10.30pm Beth tapping away at her imaginary watch telling us our time was up. We said ok, and she could have easily asked to leave politely and not like that, Beth decided to get confrontational & told us all to F*** off.
The service from her was absolutely disgusting & there was no need to be treated the way we were.
Such a shame the bar hires staff so rude & from that one experience we won’t be stepping foot back in the place. A snotty little bar maid is not what we wanted whilst trying to enjoy a night out with friends.

Anybody who has a bad word to say about this amazing place has no clue of the efforts of how lovely and hardworking the staff and doorman are couldn’t of asked for a better night out to say that it is a rare experience for me and my companions to be free for the evening. Mixture of great music met with some of the tastiest drinks I’ve been able to stand up from after drinking will definitely be visiting my new gin family in my own opinion one of Liverpool’s best gin houses
