Hampstead Heath,London is a delightful place where intellectuals live with the majority.There’s a huge park.There are very nice houses and pubs along the slopes.Must be visited.

"Hampstead Heath Park was a delightful surprise during my trip to London! The expansive park offered a variety of landscapes, from rolling hills and woodlands to picturesque ponds and open fields. The panoramic views of London from Parliament Hill were breathtaking. The Heath was bustling with activities, from joggers and cyclists to families enjoying picnics and dog walkers. The Kenwood House and its gardens added a touch of elegance to the park. It was a perfect blend of nature, history, and recreation, making it a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike!"I bought a railcard on trainpal and got a 20% discount when I entered the RC777E code! We walked here for an hour on a bright but cool Sunday morning. Lots of paths and plenty to see and interest you if you like fresh air and green places. This is a very large green area in London and sign posting is not that good. But after we got confused we asked other people for directions (how to get to our next destination) and they were helpful. A fun outing.

Hampstead Sith Park is a vast public green space in north London for nature lovers.
Metro:
Take the London Underground Northern line to Hampstead station or Belsize Park station and the London Underground Overground line to Hampstead Heath station within walking distance of the park.
Ride:
Walking or cycling to the park from surrounding communities such as Highgate, Camden, etc. is also a good option.
Train: You can buy a railcard if you come to London from another city, most of the locals use that oyster card , but I bought the raildcard from trainpal , which is a bit of a hassle, but a lot cheaper. Enter RC777E on trainpal to get a 20% discount.
Park highlights:
Mount Keitel:
The highest point in the park, offering spectacular panoramic views of London's city centre, is ideal for photography and picnicking.
Kenwood House：
An 18th-century mansion, open to the public free of charge, Impression of a rich art collection and beautiful gardens.
Hampstead Sith Park is home to many wildlife and plants, and lovely wildlife can be seen, but the downside is that if it rains there will be plenty of mud in the park!

Hampstead Heath is not somewhere where you would think about going but next time when I come back to London I am definitely coming here again!
The heath has its own overground station where you can go to Stratford, Richmond and Clapham Junction.
The heath is also a 20 minute walk away from Hampstead tube station which is served by the Edgware branch of the Northern Line.
We walked from Hampstead station and the walk was really nice!
The heath itself was really nice with lots of nature! There is a lake on the way to Parliament Hill and there are lots of different animals which you can see on the lake!
On parliament hill, there are lots of benches where you can see central London and see landmarks such as St Paul’s cathedral and The Gherkin.
I would definitely come here next time when I come back to London as it is so peaceful here! You wouldn’t think that this is so close to central London!

I love Hampstead Heath. Have walked on there since the 1970's and it is not only beautiful but a great stress reliever. Also, there are the bathing ponds. Hampstead Ladies pond is unique, and ,although the water is murky, it feels clean and refreshing.

We had a lovely dry and clear day so views were great cross London. Plenty of walks, children's parks and place to picnic or cafe to eat

Lovely place! Visited the parkrun (two lap lollipop course) with some decent hills for London. Really felt peaceful and away from the city, but with lovely ‘village’ buildings all around. Lovely walks and stunning views from parliament hill. Easy to get to from the Northern line. Definitely worth a visit.

what busses to take from kensington to Hampstead Village

Hi, not sure which bus you need from Kensington as we stayed in Shoreditch. However there is a good website called Transport for London which lets you plan your journey. Website address is tfl.gov.uk. Also suggest you download the app Citymapper which is also very useful.

Hi, I’m traveling to London this weekend & im hoping to do the Hampstead Heath Park run, what is the closest tube & is it far from the start line? Many thanks

Hampstead Underground is close to the southern end of the park. It's pretty far down. The lift is slow but don't even think of doing the stairs - you might not be able to race after that. I was heading to Kenwood House in the northern part of the park so I took the tube to Archway Station (Northern) and then caught the #210 bus.

Cycling is allowed on the Heath, but only along specific shared use paths. We don't allow cross-country cycling and also have some paths for pedestrian use only. With kids I would opt for the Parliament Hill section with its wide open fields, running track, playground, and swimming pools. Bring blankets and a picnic lunch. There is a Marks and Spencer right next to the Hampstead Bus and Overground Station that offers a variety of pre-made meals and drinks so you don't have to haul your picnic onto the tube or bus. About a twelve minute walk from Belsize Park tube station, the last station within zone two on the west branch of the Northern Line. A visit afterwards to Camden Market is a good side trip.

Just enjoy the views & the walk. Really, that's it. Then go get something to eat at Karma Bread which is close by. Ask for Tami or Sacha.

a must do , dont leave london with out going, start at parliament hill fields and walk to kenwood then highgate village ,drink a pint in the gate house

We are visiting London next weekend and I want to visit the Magdala Tavern in Hampstead as I am a crime fan . I know that the pub is now closed but I also hear that is has been changed in to flats or is it as it was when it was open, can any one help.

how do i go about stargazing at hampstead heath??

Well I have not been there at night so I would suggest you familiarise yourself with the topography during daylight hours, take a friend for safety and a torch or flashlight to find your preferred viewing position.
I would imagine there would be some light pollution but the possibilities of good viewing would be endless.
There might be local groups that go out, there might be some restrictions on hours. There are a number of ponds so beware the risks involved.
