Nice theatre

Visited with my adult son to watch Frankie Boyle - the theatre is easily located just off Leicester Square. We had seats G25 and G26 which had an excellent view but the theatre is quite small so I think all seats would have a good view. There are several bar areas. The staff were friendly and overall entry/exit handled efficiently. Well priced tickets for central London - I will look out for more tickets here.

Difficult to describe

We saw their version of Much Ado, a play I don’t know but it would have added to the enjoyment if I did. It was sometimes difficult to follow how far the original plot had been twisted. The “drunk” character on this occasion was Hero. It was difficult to tell if she was drunk or not, or whether she was just overacting for effect. Some of the audience sounded almost like regulars and I wasn’t sure if the man playing Margaret was a plant or not. However it is great value for money and a special call out to Ellie of the staff who switched my tickets from one night to another with effortless ease.

Great, intimate experience.

Went to see The Interdimensional ABK at this theatre. Plenty of space to hang around before the show, a bar on each floor and two in the arena itself, usable also for the break and intermission. Whole Theatre is nicely maintained for such a small venue, and a real credit to supporting smaller acts.

West end magic

Visited to see West End Magic on a Saturday afternoon. Reasonable price and reasonable seating but not quite what we expected. The show was more comedic / cabaret style than we expected, most of the audience was families with young kids and some of the acts (ventriloquism and ninjas) were not traditional ‘magic’. The venue itself needs a serious refit of the ridiculously narrow ladies loos - at 7 months pregnant I struggled to squeeze down the corridor and into a cubicle!

The Stickman

We were really looking forward to taking our grandchildren (4years and 1 year) to see The Stickman as they both love the book. It was such a disappointment. A really poor show and not what we had hoped for at all. Luckily it didn’t spoil the rest of our day out in London, which was magical.

Stickman- A brilliant show!

Our 4 year old's first trip to the theatre to see Stickman. When the 3 man show started myself and my husband looked at each other and thought what have we got ourselves into. However we could not of been more wrong, it was perfect for a child's first trip to the West End. It engaged both adults and children alike with audience participation, great humour along with fantastic props and musical instruments. The stickman songs are very catchy and you'll find yourself singing them for several days to come. Definitely looking forward to seeing the next adaptation of a Julia Donaldson story at the theatre. Leicester Square Theatre was tucked off of a side street off of Leicester square, we had to wait outside for the doors to be opened even though it was less than 30 minutes till show time. There was storage for folded pushchairs which was great as their main audience was under 5, although as the theatre was in the basement you do have to mange a flight of stairs first. Having said this the show was brilliant and would recommend it to any young (or not so young) Stickman fans!

Fantastic Intimate London Venue, Great Comedy, Great Staff.

Big fan of Stewart Lee and what a wonderful venue in which to see him live. Also, the first gig I've been to where there was no queue for the ladies!...the staff are exceptional, Lerelle (or Lerole?) who was on the door and then assisting with maintaining order in the auditorium was a darling. We will be back.

Great intimate theatre but drinks very expensive. £6.50 for a 330ml can of beer. And the bar staff member was horrible. Opened 4 cans I’d asked for and said so you don’t throw them at the stage. Do I look like someone that would do that?! Then asked for a tray as I couldn’t carry them all. He just said no and turned away. Awful member of staff. But Clinton was really good and would return to the theatre but not buy as many drinks.

Saw paul as Rod at Chelmsford my husband and I both love Rod so this was the closest thing. Woooow what a voice, not only does he look like him he talks and sings like him. We sung our hearts out and rocked out to paul so much. He interacted with us and we danced all night long, he is a true performer. He is 100000% a close second to the real Rod.
We have never sung and danced so much in our lives we absolutely loved him. Wve told all our friends who have also seen him and felt the same.
We are booking again in January to see him again.
FANTASTIC EVENING OUT.
PURE TALENT.

Great show, poor theatre

Very happy to still be going out and supporting businesses, but covid measures need to be foolproof and not just a box ticking exercise. All they did was check your temperature on your wrist and check your bag before going in. Myself and my partner recently had covid and we never got a temperature. Don't see why a covid pass and negative test can't be checked as well. The idea that 'masks are mandatory' inside the theatre is flawed. Saw many people without a drink or food without one, who then later conveniently put one on while exiting the theatre (logical...). Or those who held a mask in their hand instead of wearing it. The majority of the row in front of me did not have a mask on. When you're in the basement of an enclosed space and there's no social distancing, it's really not a comfortable experience, even if you are triple jabbed and have had covid.

The toilets, whilst clean, are incredibly tight and narrow. I get that this is London and the theatre is old, but be prepared to have to move out of the way mid hand washing to let someone else past, and knock the loo roll holder whilst trying to wrangle your way in/out of the stall kind of thing. On the positive side, the door is push on your way out so at least you don't have to touch a handle after washing your hands.

Finally, someone give this theatre funding to replace their seats. They are not clean and the springs make noises during the show as people move in their seats, which is distracting.
