Wednesday 2nd October we took the Thameslink train from Crawley to London Bridge Station.
As we exited the station we walked along the pavement across this Bridge in the direction of The Monument.
As we walked over the Bridge which spans the River Thames, we had views up and down the River. In one direction we could see sights like the Tower of London, Tower Bridge and HMS Belfast. With Southwark Bridge on the other side.
It was an opportunity to scan the skyline of Lodon picking out icon buildings that we would see. Behind us was The Shard, beside London Bridge Station. In front of us was The Fenchurch Building, known as The Walkie-Talkie, 30 St Mary Axe ,The Gherkin, and The Leadenhall Building known as the Cheese Grater.
It could be regarded as a viewing platform from where sight of London can be seen.
The current bridge was constructed between 1967 and 1972 and was opened by Her Majesty The Queen on the 16th March 1973. It replaced the 19th century stone arched bridge, which had in turn replaced a medieval bridge which was six hundred years old.
The Bridge's five lane are part of the A3 road, it has a pavement on either side and cycle lanes. It is a busy Bridge with a constant stream of cars, busses, taxis, cyclists and pedestrians crossing over.
It measures 269 metres, around 883 feet long across the River and 32 metres, 105 feet wide. It is made up of three sections, spans, the largest of which is 104 metres, 341feet.
It is a functional bridge rather than historic and interesting like the bridges on either side, Tower Bridge and Southwark Bridge.

This iconic bridge connects the financial district of Bank with the famous Borough Market. Traversing the bridge is simple enough and it does not have grand features to view. However, it is a great spot for taking pictures of Tower Bridge and London at night. A must-visit for tourists.

Less beautiful than Tower Bridge, but still very nice and strategic, in fact it connects the city of London with the village of Southwark.

London Bridge is one of the main bridges over the River Thames connecting the City of London to Southwark. From the bridge you have a beautiful view of Tower Bridge and the City buildings.

The London Bridge is a historic but simple bridge that crosses the Thames River and is often confused with the Tower Bridge which is imposing and monumental. It is passed by cars and pedestrians.

London Bridge may not be the prettiest but its rich history makes it a fascinating place to be. Standing where London began, on the fourth incarnation of the bridge after the Great Fire and the Blitz, adds a sense of significance. We walked over it from Borough Market to the Tower of London, and it was a great experience.

We were in the area and had a walk along here. It was quiet when we went across which the bridge is ok and the views are ok of the surrounding area. It can get busy which can make it difficult to cross over

During my visits to London I always remain very reflective about the importance of the bridges scattered along the wide River Thames and connecting the metropolis with safety and beauty.
The current London Bridge is the result of a long history of major extensions and indispensable passages, solid, sober, has a past of renovations based also on the architectural fashions of different eras (an interesting story that can be traced even just by reading Wikipedia).
London Bridge offers evocative views of the Thames as in my attached photos.
It connects the City with the London Borough of Southwark, on the side where, further back, are the Tate Modern and Globe Theatre and, further inland, Southwark Cathedral.

We walked along London Bridge on a Sunday afternoon, it was a really hot day and the bridge was packed full of people.
You can see Tower bridge and there is a lovely view across the Thames. You can get an Uber boat or stop for a drink or bite to eat.

Just a bridge. Wasn't as fun as Millennium or London Bridge but we walked it as part of our Tourist activities. I would recommend to skip it.

It isn't crowded too much on any day. I hope you aren't mixing it with Tower Bridge..

Can anyone explain why so many people review, and post photos of, the Tower Bridge here?
I gave up telling TA to move them to the correct review site some time ago.
There are even photos of grinning twerps on here with the giveaway (and huge) Tower Bridge plaque behind them...

We can view tower bridge from this location. Those views are taken at London bridge. As nothing note worthy is there at London bridge. This is simple bridge only.
Your concern is correct but still we don't have choice.
