Lovely place to visit, 6 year old really enjoyed the park. Very reasonable price, also the staff are very friendly. Would recommend to families with young children, lots to do and nice gift shop. We didn’t do everything on offer as we arrived quite late but would like to go again.

It's a really nice place to come on a nice day. Loads of lush scenery, birds, bugs and just a generally nice place to be. My little girl really enjoyed it.

Wonderful place. Exceeded our expectations. Reasonably priced. Nice cafe and shop too. Flat trails (the longest takes about 40 minutes), accessible - mobility scooters and off-road pushchairs available to use (subject to availability).
Great if you like wildlife and/or bird-watching - or even if you don't. Great if you like a nice walk. Great if you like a cafe with a nice view. Great for all the family. Great for geographers!
They put on a (take your own) picnic in the park with outdoor games for the platinum jubilee.

Great place to visit if you like wildlife.🦆 Nice & peaceful, with lots of little trails to explore . My 2 year old loved it & the trails are mostly far enough away from the water edge for me to let her walk along without having to hold her hand 👍The staff were friendly too. Will definitely return.

This is wonderful place and very reasonably priced. One thing that winds me up is it’s address is listed as Stockton on Tees, Middlesbrough. Cleveland. Since when has Stockton been part of Middlesbrough. The address should be Stockton on Tees. Durham.

Fantastic place to visit with young kids, we spent 3 hours here, wandering around the reserve, we did an Easter egg hunt, had lunch in the cafe and saw plenty of birdlife.
The hides are very nice, well maintained and an enjoyable place to sit and watch the whole range of life in front of you. Plenty of birds were seen, a lot of Terns, some butterflies and little grebes were the highlight on a sunny, warm afternoon.
I recommend this place for a visit, its a lovely place with friendly staff and a great play area at the end as a bonus!
We will be returning, to try and spot more of the wildlife found in this part of the world.

This reserve is on the outskirts of industrial Teesside. Ignore the backcloth and enjoy the foreground. It has the advantage, now the hides are closed, of having open habitat. There was a good variety of birds, including Marsh Harrier. The highlight of the day was watching a Barn Owl quartering the hedges. There is extensive parking and the reserve is so large that it does not seem crowded.

I visited a small RSPB reserve satellite reserve only 5-10 minutes walk from RSPB Saltholme and looked after by the RSPB Saltholme staff and volunteers. It is a very quiet RSPB reserve with one bird hide. In 2020 Bearded Tits nested with 2 pairs which had young had fledged. It is an excellent quiet small RSPB reserve with access up a private road and only accessible by RSPB members and Teesmouth Bird Club members.

Now that our entry prices have changed I can confirm Saltholme's entry prices. Adults - £3, Students - £2, Children (5-17yrs) - £1.50, under 5s – Free, Families also get 1 child (5-17) free. Entry will be free for RSPB members.

Hi there is space for a motorhome in the car park although only during out opening hours 9.30-5.00 in the summer and 9.30-4.00 in the winter, as outside of those hours the site is locked. Dogs are allowed into the carpark but not onto the main site.

The Phil Stead Hide next to the car park is opened daily between 8 & 8.30am and is accessible for visitors. However the main site remains closed until 9.30am

Are the paths suitable for children’s scooters/bikes?

Scooters and bikes are not something we encourage on the paths around the reserve, but we are aware that they can really help families with young children get about and enjoy the site. Although for anything larger than a balance bike for very young children we would ask that you stick to the cycle track that takes you through reserve from Port Clarence to our front entrance.

I meet friends monthly for coffee and a catch up. Saltholme was suggested for our next meeting. If we're just using the cafe, will it still cost £5 parking. Travelling from different towns, so 4 cars.... Makes an expensive coffee
