This was absolutely brilliant. Ross is simply the best tour guide ever: humourous, talkative, with a clear love of all things 'sea'. Not only an amazing knowledge of the watery depths, but all sorts of interesting facts and tips about the local area, too. If this looks more expensive than other similar trips there is a reason - it's better. The boat is absolutely awesome, with sheltered comfy seats, lifebelts and 600bhp to sweep you along (I asked him!).

Everyone should take this trip

Fantastic trip today, I could have chatted to the skipper all day, what a wealth of knowledge about the local area and UK fishing, was great to see the seals at Ravenscar but the highlight was definitely seeing the minke whale so close. Hopefully we will be back for another trip. Thank you for a memorable experience

Excellent boat trip

Brilliant trip

We saw some seals and porpoise. Amazing scenery. Kids and all us adults loved it. Many questions fired at Ross about the area, the equipment on the boat, kids were amazed by the sonar and instruments. Ross was full of information about the area. Lovely boat with a fantastic skipper. Highly recommend taking a trip.

Excellent boat trip

Excellent trip with awesome staff who reduced the speed close to Ravenscar and told a bit of history about this place. A safety jacket was provided to everyone. Stunning. Was great staying outside at the back of the boat but there are seats to stay inside if wish or the weather conditions are changed. Will take this trip again.

Great experience with great hosts.

Very knowledgeable skipper, Ross and also great interesting facts from Laura. Ensured we saw seals, sea birds diving and Ross ensured we saw a whale by redirecting the boat from original plan. It was a memorable experience.
We would highly recommend this trip. Will definitely do this again next time we’re up in Yorkshire.

Fantastic trip. Well worth the money. Very knowledgeable owners. Very welcoming. Saw seals, lots of sea birds, and a distant glimpse of minkie whales. Some trips have had close encounters with whales but you can't predict nature. Will definitely go again next visit to whitby.

A must do!

Absolutely fantastic experience. The skipper was extremely knowledgeable and directed the boat towards whales, porpoises and seals, slowing down so we could get a good look. We used it to travel to Scarborough but my son and his wife enjoyed it so much they stayed on board and paid for the return trip. It was a gorgeous day weather-wise so most of us sat outside in the sunshine. Would definitely recommend. The boat is fast, clean and, because it's not big, it felt like quite a personal experience.

A fantastic experiance, in the safe hands of a knowledgeable skipper, Ross, who offered insighful observations throughout. Two hours exhilarating explore of the North Yorkshire coastline flew by. Seeing the land and widlife from the sea was a truly memorable experiance and was money well spent. We highly recomended Yorkshire Costal Boat Trips.

Whitby to Scarborough in style

Spot on service. We used it to travel between Whitby and Scarborough. Friendly sailor! Felt safe and secure. Fast modern boat. Even saw some seals. Would use again.
