Everything was perfect - worth every penny!

This was a wonderful day from start to finish. We were collected from our hotel as promised and there were only 4 others on the tour, so it felt so personal and intimate.

The whole day was unrushed and we had just the right amount of time in each place. Helmsley was a lovely coffee stop and Whitby was a lovely place for lunch and to see the coast, but the absolute highlight was the Moors. Unexpectedly beautiful, peaceful and way better than our expectations.

The steam train ride was the perfect was to finish off the day - a nice relaxing chuff through the woodland and valleys to Pickering.

The guide Chris was exceptionally informative and patient - and funny!

Not worth the money or time !!

After travelling for 2 hours to see the much publicised ‘Through the Woods’ Christmas at Castle Howard I was very disappointed.
The whole walk through was over in half an hour, although each room had a theme it was just Christmas tree after Christmas tree,
The mannequins were very amateurish and left a lot to the imagination.
A expensive day out and not worth the money.
The Christmas gift shop was unbelievably expensive for imported Chinese decorations.

Castle Howard at Christmas is so beautiful this year. Sixteen rooms full of fairy tales, it is so magical, well worth a visit.

Heartbeat Thrill

This is so worth a visit. If you like Heartbeat then this is a must. The scenery is spectacular. The village of Goathland is picturesque, scripps garage gift shop is great for photos, has a great owner with a fabulous sense of humour. The sheep just happily wander around you. Parking was only £3.50 for the whole day. The railway and steam train all a must!

Fantastic day

We had a brilliant day! The small group along with Chris’ friendly & relaxed approach made for a very enjoyable day, Chris went out of his way to make sure we had a good day & we saw so much that we would not have done with a larger group or less knowledgable guide. The trip really is worth it & we would totally recommend.

Trip to Whitby and Yorkshire Moors

An unforgettable trip to the Moors and Whitby. Our guide was incredible and very kind. He let us stop at different places along the way to take pictures and told us about the history of Yorkshire. The steam train was also absolutely amazing.

Gorgeous day out in the countryside!

Pete was an amazing guide! Tons of information from a local definitely enhanced the experience. I had an unusual request for the tour, and Pete went above and beyond to help me out, which I so appreciated.
The moors were stunning, and where overcast skies may have detracted from the experience elsewhere, definitely added to the moody atmosphere. Whitby was a lovely coastal town, and the abbey was hauntingly beautiful. And of course, the steam train was the perfect way to finish off the day by cruising back through the valleys of the moors.

A Day on the Moors

I reserved this trip as a gift for my husband's birthday. It was a total success! We have never been to this area of England and without renting a car would have missed out on very special places! Chris was a wonderful guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and made sure everyone enjoyed the day. There were so many highlights....but seeing the moors in person, wandering the lovely sea town of Whitby and riding on a steam engine train were all high on our list. Also the unexpected visit to the church in Pickering was definitely a bonus. We would highly recommend this tour. It was a great way to spend one of our days while in York.
