Some interesting shops set in a really good architectural setting. Similar-ish to the one in Norwich if a little larger. Worth a poke around if you have a few minutes.

We went in here out of the rain, it was like an aladdins cave, there was loads of different wee businesses, I loved all the food places. That's my jam. There was cookies, chocolates, beers, cafes, fruit and veg, butchers, fishmongers, the cutest wee bags, noodles, just everything I like and we spent some time in there having a bloody good mooch, so I'd recommend this wee gem

Lovely place for a wander. Lots choice of gift shops and unusual present ideas. Nice and clean and bright. Would recommend. Easy to find, just off the main street.

Beautiful place in a beautiful town with lots of cute shops and cafes. You can find everything here, from fruit/vegetable stalls to Ben’s Cookies to coffee shops and specialised shops such as Oxford Soap Shop. We had lunch at Georgina’s while we were there. Oxford Covered Market is a must visit if you’re in the town.

Market worth a visit. Rozana Takeway Lebanese wraps were so good we went back twice. Columbia Coffee Roaster was the most delicious coffee we tasted in Oxford.

If you are looking for a quick bite for energy, a coffee or dessert or a nice Oxford souvenir, this is a great market to visit. It is perfectly located between Christ Church College and many of the other landmark college buildings like the Radcliffe, Bodleian and Sheldonian. Its cover protects its visitors from the elements which was the cold the day we visited. Here we were introduced to Mulled Wine. We also were able to find souvenirs and a quick bite for energy. It was fun to visit.

The market has more variety of shops than I thought when first entering. I particularly liked the butchers. It can be busy and difficult to move around at times.

Always a lovely visit to the Covered Market. We always visit Ben's Cookies and it's always a treat. Taylors is also a favorite. This time it was decorated beautifully for Christmas and was so lovely. Will definitely visit again when in Oxford.

Where is the best place to park for the covered market please ? With someone elderly who can’t walk too far

Hi Samantha, that's a tricky Q. as Oxford centre is highly pedestrianised. The official advice for visitors is to use the park & ride car parks and get a bus into the centre, but that doesn't really help folk who find it difficult to walk. The best advice I can think of is perhaps get an Uber cab (or any other type of cab, come to that!) to a nearby street - Turl Street, perhaps?
Access from the High is def. pedestrian only...

When I was at the market in 2017, I found a trader who sold purses that are handcrafted to look like houses and shops. I bought a little coin purse that looked like a quilt shop. The advert on the purse read: Little Sewing Company. Can you tell me how I can reach them. I am in the USA, but will be in the UK in December. Thank you, Katherine Treece

If you do maybe you can email them and ask about the Little Sewing Company.
But if you do not remember the store then Google the name of the market then search the store in the Photo Gallery of the market and ask them.

We are open from 8am - 5.30pm Monday - Saturday and 10am - 4pm Sundays. We are also open bank holidays which are Sunday hours.
