What a find! We wanted somewhere interesting to hire a kayak from rather than the usual lake with inflatable park. It was beautiful, gently paddling down the Thames surrounded by ducks, geese and boats. The staff were friendly, professional and safety conscious. We were given life jackets, lent waterproof bags and sent on our merry way. I would highly recommend them to anyone who fancies a bit of adventure within a safe environment. I can’t wait to do it again.

Nice way to spend a day on the river.
We had never kayaked before, so were hoping to get at least some basic instructions from the person who was giving us the kayak. However, this was not the case. We didn't even get so much as a safety brief. The only instruction that we received was 'Don't fall in'.
That said, I have to say that the two guys who were in charge of the kayaks are really friendly and chatty and gave us some good suggestions about the area. Now that we finally got the hang of paddling, thanks to the instructions of a patient friend who was kayaking with us, I think we will definitely go back.

Excellent service - the guy running it is so friendly and informative. Easy booking process and parking available on the road leading up to it.
Have come a few times, and yesterday brought my friends along too who thoroughly enjoyed their time.
Toilet facilties available (very clean!) as well as dry bags / life jackets. Can only speak for kayaking but the kayaks / paddles are in great condition too.
Very reasonably priced with lots of different booking options.
Highly recommend this company!

David and all the rest of the crew were extremely polite, welcoming, and helpful. I appreciate how they all went out of their way to help, including giving us a ride back to our accommodation. They were also flexible with the timing.
The river was beautiful and peaceful. There is a little beach about 30 minutes rowing towards Pangbourne where you can stop and have a meal at the Mad Duck Café before paddling on.
I highly recommend Thames Canoe Hire!

I have now hired kayaks twice here, and both times it was a seamless experience. Booked online, paid, pick up kayaks and enjoyed my day.
I really like location as well. Upstream is a really nice stretch of the river, with a good place for a picnic just before the locks. Would definitely hire kayaks (or a SUP) again.

Good kayaks and very nice way to explore the Thames. Good quality service and adaptability to change dates when one of us had COVID. Very happy with the experience. 😀

We hired two double kayaks for a weekend trip down the Thames, with boat drop off and pick up, courtesy of Thames Canoe Hire. Excellent service and friendly staff. Couldn't have been more helpful. We had a delightful trip using their kayaks. They are in a good location for exploring the Thames and provide good kit.
