Great idea, but poor execution. We visited with a 3 and 5 year old and they were excited to go. We got there and the furness was working fine but that is where it went wrong. At least half of the things were not working. And the main water feature was not working. We spoke to someone who was dismissive at first but they are now looking into it. If everything worked then would be at least a 4.

Went with a 6 and 12 year old . Both of them enjoyed the experience with lots of hands on exhibits .
Very informative and fascinating to read about the iron industry .
Combined our ticket with a visit to Blist Hill and got an annual pass which made it cheaper too .

Interesting in parts but 13 and 11 year old didn't find much to hold their attention. Dogs aren't allowed in.

A lovely little hands-on museum with lots to do for kids (and adults) of all ages. Not massive (we were there about 1.5 hours) but great fun. Cafe next door is also fabulous.

As we visited with our pass plus and it didn't cost us anything it was worth it with the young grandchildren. If we didn't have the pass plus it would have cost our party £43.50 and I don't think it was worth that. We spent an hour and a half. The kids thought it was great but it would have been too much money if we didn't have the pass plus ticket.

Visited as part of our holiday in the local area. We purchased the museum family pass. Visited with a 5 year old and 10 year old on a rainy day.
We stayed for aprx 90 mins. We had free parking as we spent over £25 in the furnace kitchen just round the corner.
We really enjoyed our visit. There was an egg throwing workshop for £2 per child. The boys made an egg parachute and enjoyed throwing over the platform.
The majority of the museum is on one floor so suitable for buggies and wheelchairs. There are toilets and a small cafe selling rolls and coffees.
Loads to touch and explore. All in working condition and complete parts. Good range of machines suitable for all ages. Us grown up also enjoyed testing out our inner engineer.
There is a canel water area where children can explore gates, locks and water sprays. Bit wet but lots of fun.
We made a day of it so visited coalport which is just through the car park and buildwas abbey too as all close. The collection of museums on the family pass are all quite close together.

Visited as we had upgraded our ticket for all Ironbridge sites but this one is really for kids so we were only there for 20 minutes or so.

Certainly worth a visit for 1-2 hours. Lots of little STEM based hands on exhibits for the kids to learn from and get involved with.

Been before and was great fun, disappointed on this occasion as some of the hands on exhibits were not operational. This led to a feeling of not particularly value for money. Shame as it is normally great fun for the youngsters

As an engineer I'm slightly biased, but I think that experiences such as this are vital to young children to get in touch with the real applications of science and engineering. They may only be playing but getting them to connect the two will give them an advantage at understanding the world around them, and that's definitely been the case for both my young children when they've come here.
The activities available are varied, and I think the standouts are the huge water feature, the energy generation wheels and the wind tunnel. I'd really recommend this place for the interactive elements alone, and in particular the interactive room showing the process of iron production (sounds boring but I promise your kids will have you watching it at least twice).
Parking is more than reasonable, there's a well presented cafe just across the way, and there are a collection of experiences that are close by with discounts offered if you join the club. The only thing I'd add is that it's always a good idea to wear a coat as it's inevitably hard to warm a space like Enginuity.

I don't think so...Enginuity is a museum indoors, so it's unlikely...
You'll have to contact them to be 100% sure...
It is very much worth a visit....
And theree's a special event at Blists Hill on this Saturday---the 14th...a giant robot----see website for details....
