It is certainly interesting to look at, but the town of Iron Bridge can get quite congested on a beautiful day. Parking is off street, but be careful getting in and out of the car door as people tend to drive quickly through the town.

Amazing bridge and small area of shops and cafes to visit.We enjoyed our visit. Very scenic sat by the river for a while.

Tollhouse is small but interesting to imagine how it would have been. Staff were helpful and displays informative.

Stopped at the toll house as we walked over the bridge. Friendly staff and a nice little exhibition to inform you of the bridge etc. does not take very long to read the information and it’s easy to read etc. children will not get too bored as you can be in and out in 10-15 minutes.

This location is one we had visited before when we travelled to the area for a previous holiday. We enjoy the location itself and the uniqueness of it too. Unfortunately we didn’t find it very peaceful particularly on our latest visit as there were lots of screaming children and speeding cars etc. there are some nice eating places situated along the roadside though vegan options were sparse. The shops were very well stocked and sold some nice items though most of the owners didn’t seem bothered if we purchased anything or not.
Overall however we do enjoy visits to this location and would visit again

Lovely little place to nose around in if you don't have time to go to the bigger museums (heads up, the Museum of the Gorge is closed for renovation throughout 2023) and, of course, it's free.
The ground floor is dedicated to a few panels of information and an English Heritage gift shop - fridge magnets, local jams, wooden pens, some nice postcard designs too (I purchased a few, as a member of a postcard club - you can pay by cash or card). The upper floor has more information panels, and a small model reconstruction of the Bridge itself. The staff were helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.
Just behind the Tollhouse, you have the starting points of several hiking routes of varying length and ability (signposted), a fair-sized car park opposite (pay and display) and of course the village over on the other side of the Bridge (home to some excellent eateries and independent businesses). It's lovely, during nice weather, to stop in the middle and take a few moments to gaze over the River Severn. Definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in Shropshire.

The Iron Bridge and Tollhouse is an incredible historical landmark that should be on everyone's bucket list. Located in Telford, England, this iconic bridge is a testament to the ingenuity and engineering skills of the Industrial Revolution.
The bridge, which spans the River Severn, was completed in 1779 and was the first of its kind in the world, constructed entirely from cast iron.

Nice little museum with friendly and helpful lady. Lovely to see the iron bridge has been renovated and is now the correct colour. and to see the tolls still on the board.

I am not aware of any guided walking tour. The Guardian Newspaper suggests a self-guided tour on its website - you might like to try that.

Is there a charge to cross the bridge as will only have time to visit the Victorian Village as well so probably won’t pay us to buy a passport.

No entrance fee to the Toll House or Bridge. There is a pleasant and interesting display inside. If you intend to go the Village you probably will best buying the pass and you can visit all the museum for 12 months.

We stayed in Coalport and walking distance to Ironbridge is about 1.75 miles. I would say the tile museum is no more than a mile.

Hi, you can walk over the Iron bridge and there are 3 different walks of various lengths from there which are great to exercise the dog. Then you can take a dog into the Victorian Village free of charge. (around £18pperson) The only places there the dog can't go in are the cafe and the food shops. We also found lots of dog friendly pubs in the area. If you visit Ludlow the dog can go into the castle and there is a short walk around the castle grounds.
