No we turned up in the middle of the summer holidays and only had to wait 5 minutes to get in.

It is meant to be a natural spring, it is for originality not for ‘tourists’ to use as a play area. Enjoy what you see, learn what is on offer, don’t try to make it another ‘theme park’ for those not bright enough to see it fit the historic marvel that it is.

I would say yes it’s a must to do afternoon tea in pump room,it’s an iconic place , we’ll worth the couple of hours we were there, staff are fantastic food great and pianist with cellist, violinist,we did before tour was great.

I would think 2 hours would be the minimum but probably best to allow 3 hours actually in the baths. The one thing I’m not sure about is how long it takes to get in at various times. I walked past at Saturday lunchtime and there was a queue out the door so returned early Sunday morning and it took only 15 minutes to get in. In summary I would probably allow 4 hours.
