Fantastic choice of cheese and samples to taste. Staff helpful and knowledgeable. Could be considered expensive but each to their own on how much you you want to spend.

Cost of cheese is ridiculous. Just for the tourists. i bet you wouldn't find a local within 100 yards of this place.

The staff were entirely lacking in enthusiasm. No one greeted us when we came in. We went on self guided tour which frankly consisted of reading lots of notice boards. There was no film which could have been interesting. I quite understand that cheesemaking is time of day dependent but all we saw were counters being washed down.
Even standing by the cheese tasting counter for 5 minutes didn't generate any interest from the staff. We'd have happily bought a selection of your cheese but frankly coupled with the lacklustre staff we couldn't be bothered.....

There are at least a couple cheese shops in Cheddar Gorge, but this one evidently is the only one which still makes its own cheese right in Cheddar, aging it in caves. It produces traditional, excellent Cheddar cheese with different ages plus ones flavoured by being smoked, or with herbs or (our family favourite) with yeast extract added. They call that one Love it or Hate it and everyone in our family loves it, even the one who hates Marmite ( yeast extract). They also have cheese straws and sell preserves and crackers, etc., to go with the cheese. They offer tastings of the cheeses as well.

This is a great cheese shop with some great cheeses with a chance to sample before you buy. The cheese was very enjoyable. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Lovely shop selling local products and their own artisanal cheddar cheese, which is delicious in every way! We did the VIP tour and it was a fab experience, very interesting and fun, with plenty of cheese tasting along the way.

Been twice in two days love it,my sort of shop in the two days spent over £100 buying cheeses for gifts, good choice would recommend this .

Lovely little shop with a fantastic range of cheese and reasonably priced with crackers and pickles also on sell . You can taste before buying but with a wide variety of flavours you may buy more than you intended as all are fabulous

Really loved tasting all the cheese in the shop, all the staff were very friendly. Particularly the Vintage and Cave aged cheddars were amazing cheese, so much so I've been back 3 times in a week to buy the same cheese!
