Beautiful Butterflies

Great little place to visit. £4 for seniors entry. Although the place looks small its a great place to stay a while. Walk around the place several times as there is something different to see every time. Small pretty birds, carp and worth sitting on the benches just watching the butterflies chase each other.
Great little reptile place after you've had your fill of butterflies. Make sure you wear light clothing as its rather warm inside and go to the loo first as they are not in the butterfly part but are across the skate park area. However you can come and go if you've had your hand stamped. The weather wasn't wonderful the day we were so we left after butterflys. But there is ample free parking and once you come away from butterfly world there is a large park, river and museum to explore.
Well worth a trip...

Butterflies galore

Very reasonable pricing wise allowing you to leave and visit as many times as you wish throughout the day. Filed full of many colourful butterflies flying freely throughout the space.
Selection of animals at the rear with a handful of meerkats to keep you entertained.
You can also pay for food too feed the large carp which swim around.

Great little afternoon out. Twice the size of other butterfly farms I’ve been too a nice collection of different species and free re-entry with a stamp. Cheap little experience too

Cheap priced, great parking, really well kept areas, brilliant staff.

Amazing. Myself, the mrs and our 2yr old daughter have visited twice ow and both times have been fantastic. Prices are very cheap and being able to feed the fish is a favourite thing my daughter loves to do. It’s a brilliant way for her to get used to all these butterflies and other animals so she doesn’t grow up with fears. Staff are really nice and one of the guys stopped to say hello to my daughter and had a fun chat with her and showed her a couple of bits. That won it for me, I don’t expect it of staff and they clearly enjoy their job for them to interact with young visitors. She was presented with a small butterfly toy which was incredibly kind which I suspect it was because she was being brave and well behaved.

Seeing a massive spider knocked me sick however. But that’s my issue I need to work on haha. If only there was a good cafe near by we’d visit more but the closest one is horrendous.

I was taken here for my Birthday off my daughter as I love Butterflies.. when we got there it’s was just magical, granted the place itself is not very big which I was a bit disappointed at, just be warned it’s very warm in where the Butterflies are as it needs to be so don’t wear a thick jumper as you will sweat haha.
The Butterflies are just beautiful and it has a lovely little waterfall in there as well..

Such a fantastic place!
Very well priced.
Lots of butterflies to see, as well as koi carp fishes that you can feed. Additional animals such as meerkats, chipmunks, snakes and lizards are there too.
Size of butterfly area really good too.
Stayed easily for an hour and could have stayed longer but children were far too hot.
There is a playarea/park on the grounds too which is amazing, and free parking too.

BUTTERFLIES GALORE

Sited in the wonderful Preston Park, Butterfly World is a real delight to visit. Not particularly inexpensive to enter, it contains an abundance of marvellous botanical specimens and some amazing butterflies. My family and I spent time there enjoying the sights and being amazed at the colourful butterflies swarming all around.

Good for at least a few hours but on a nice day you can spend all day at the park and butterfly world

I thought it was good here we spent a few hours looking around both the butterflies and reptiles all were interesting.
We spent some time in the hot house then out to the park and playground then back to the hot house for more butterfly spotting. You need a stamp to recenter.
I'd recommend this and would go again

A Little Bit of Tropical Paradise on Teeside.

As a birthday treat, my niece, a zoology student had asked for a trip to Butterfly World. I have been to several butterfly parks in different parts of the world, some better than others. I was pleasantly surprised to find this one well stocked with a good variety of species from Africa, Asia and South America. The display was attractively arranged with nectar and food plants. It was like walking through a multi coloured kaleidoscope of flying butterflies. They would alight on the vegetation giving plenty of photographic opportunities. The plants had many spectacular blooms and there was also a wall of fascinating pitcher plants. Close inspection of the leaves revealed some of the caterpillars feeding. There were also strings of suspended chrysalises from some of which butterflies could be observed emerging and spreading their wings for the first time.
Being a home for tropical species, the environment is hot and humid. A small feature stream runs throughout crossed by a bridge and featuring a waterfall and pond.
There is a separate area housing tropical frogs, spiders and meerkats.
The day we visited there were a lot of visitors, many of them families with small children. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the experience. The one thing I think they missed out on is the gift shop, it could have been so much more.
All in all I would highly recommend Stockton Butterfly World as an ideal family day out. We spent at least a couple of hours inside.
