What a magic place! World class Roman mosaics and very knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers - Dave gets a special mention.
I last went about 10 years ago, shamed to say - you never go to things right on your doorstep, do you?!! CRAZY!! I'll definitely be back.
Great grounds to walk in too with a super little cafe with great reasonably priced food and drink. Watch out too for events they put on - def one to watch x

What a treasure for us all! This excellent day trip includes a lovely cafe, a musem, gift shop, the preserved digs, and a lovely garden walk. Everything is well maintained and explained, the staff if friendly and helpful, and the cafe food was delicious. There are picnic benches if you wish to pack a snack or lunch.

This is an amazing piece of Roman history rediscovered in the 1960s. An interesting story behind the palace and a great place to spend an afternoon for history buffs.

Well worth a visit - a fascinating archaeological site with accompanying museum and outdoor space anyway but the story of it was really brought to life by Sam and his fantastic colleagues working on the ticket desk. Any time taken to talk with the passionate and engaging staff there is time well spent: a brilliant experience! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

An amazingly well presented Roman site, only discovered in our lifetime. The whole place is much more extensive than that which is displayed as it covers an area built on during the twentieth century. Information boards are plentiful, the mosaics and artefacts, fabulous and the introductory film informative. And it was all discovered by accidental building work!!

The cafe was lovely and dog friendly. From our arrival there and including our tour of the Palace we continued to feel welcome. The toilets were clean and the Palace exhibition was all on one floor. It should be made clear that dogs are allowed in the cafe and gardens but not in the main exhibition. However, because our dog is disabled, not walking far, we had him in his gardening trolley so as long as he remained in the trolley we were allowed to take him around the exhibition. Sam enjoyed it too trying the see what we were oooing and ahhing over! A guide told us the best route to take and spoke to us for some time. A thoroughly enjoyable day would be good to visit on a wet day as the car park is close to the exhibition and umbrellas can be loaned to encourage visitors to view the gardens.

Great place to visit..... lots of information about the local area in Roman times. Beautiful mosaics... and fascinating facts about the palace.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and a shout out to Dave who is one of the volunteers who spent time chatting with us about the palace and varoius projects that were going on at the palace. It made our day there.

What a fantastic find! We were very pleasantly surprised. To have such a collection to explore in one place was an honour. To be able to speak to historians who knew their subject was over and above expectations, and to be given the privilege of handling finds was overwhelming. I don’t think I have ever had such an experience before, and I will treasure it for years to come. This place is unique. You can ask to see the finds, in the finds room. Staff are more than willing to share knowledge and explain anything. If only other museums were like this they would ignite a spark so often missing from education. I can’t wait to go back to school and share this fantastic experience. Thank you so much for a wonderful visit.

An amazing experience, like travelling back two thousand years. The mosaics are truly spectacular and the hypo-course gives you an incite into Roman technology. I would recommend everyone to visit Fishbourne Roman Palace.

Being realistic, bearing in mind 9year olds get bored in 2 minutes. How long is needed for an average visit?

There is a play area and space to run around. Probably a bit young for the child centred historic stuff.

Thank you for your enquiry. Yes, the museum and mosaics are all undercover and are viewed from a walkway above. The plants area and formal gardens are outside and there is a covered colonnade which overlooks the garden.

Me & a few friends will be meeting up at your cafe before cycling to West Wittering & back. Will we be able to leave our cars in your car park while we are cycling ?
I don't expect it to be more than 5 cars.
