Eton has educated generations of aristocrats. Although it is difficult to measure such things, Eton is probably the most prestigious school in England, producing Prime Ministers, Nobel Laureates and BAFTA winners. It is possible to enter the historic Tudor-era school when it is open to the public, it's well worth the trip. I saw Eton when I was in Windsor, it's easy to spot.

I am biased because I have lived around and loved Eton for 55 years ( I was at primary school in the High Street and returned to the College itself to take university entrance exams). I drive through every day.
It is a unique, amazing and splendid place in a beautiful setting.
If you can attend on a day when there is a tour it is well worth it. There are so many amazing places - School Yard, College Chapel, Queens Schools, Canon Yard, the High Street itself, the walk to the bridge to Windsor.
Try to go to School Yard by the Cloisters where the Founders statue is and see where the Chariots of Fire race against the chimes was actually filmed.
It is a unique, amazing and splendid place in a beautiful setting.

Often take the opportunity to walk around the college to spot hidden architecture gems. Full of history and very British!

You can kind of peak in and see the campus of this exclusive school. It's classic old style English, attractive, neat as it can be. A quick visit.

Nice walk from Windsor across the pedestrianised bridge and up Eton High Street (lots of small interesting shops plus cafes, restaurants and pubs). Unfortunately the College was closed to the public with several signs up - so they definitely don't want you to go in! Perhaps it's only open at certain times but it's not clear. There are tours which you can book in advance if you really want to see inside but don't assume you can look in if you're just passing.Still interesting to see the College buildings from the road though.

Well worth walking from windsor to eton. See if you can spot the Anthony Gormley sculpture. Shame we couldn't visit the chapel

It’s difficult to think of more privileged British institution than the College, except of course the Royal Family. It was closed to visitors on the day I was there, but its elite status is well illustrated by the pupils scurrying around Eton in their distinctive frock coat uniforms. There is some wonderful architecture and even some of the more modern buildings have real character. Worth seeing this, even if you don’t like what this school represents.

Eton College is a collection of separate buildings about a kilometre or so from Windsor Castle. It is easy to find ... just follow the street signs. I thought the College would be one huge building but it is scattered on both sides of the road. I saw two of the students wearing tails and white bowties walking on the pathway. I dont know if there are public tours but just seeing the College buildings is worth the walk.

Wir sind nur vorbei gegangen, da das College gerade geschlossen und nicht zugänglich für die Öffentlichkeit war, aber dennoch netter Spaziergang mit vielen anderen sehenswerten Gebäuden, Cafes und Gässchen.

Hola, cuando yo fui no habían tours disponibles porque estaban arreglando algunas partes del colegio. Tuve la suerte de que un jardinero o cuidador, no estoy seguro, nos dejó entrar y ver el patio central, el edificio que está al lado de la capilla. Él nos contó algunas cosas sobre el colegio. No sé si habrán tours en español. Lo que si está abierto los domingos es el museo de historia natural del colegio, que es gratuito. Desde Londres no llega el metro, sólo trenes. Se toma en la estación de Waterloo donde parten los servicios South West Trains, en la misma estación puedes comprar el boleto hasta la estación Windsor & Eton Riverside, el viaje demora 1 hora y cuesta alrededor de 12 libras. Ojalá te sirva de algo mi ayuda. Saludos y buen viaje!
