Lovely hotel

Me and my daughter stayed at this hotel for one night in September. We were both very pleased with the hotel. Received a message from the hotel on morning of arrival with instructions on check in. The check in was easy and a good idea. We were so pleased with the room. Very clean and spacious. The bathroom was also very clean. A few towels were supplied and plenty of tea and coffee. The only downside for me was the bed. It was rather hard and I found it uncomfortable. But that’s down to personal choice. It wouldn’t stop me from staying there again the next time I’m in Aberystwyth. Excellent little hotel.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in

The hotel had a self checkin in which they sent you a code to a door down the side of the hotel and left your room open with they key inside which also had the key code printed on the wood, which looks like it’s been the same code for a while which was worrying.
We were in the room for 20 minutes when there was a lot of banging on our door and someone shouting ‘Let me in, let me in’. I got up to walk to the door and then realised someone was using keys to try and enter our room. They were still banging heavily on the door and shouting ‘let me in’. I asked who it was and was told they were the owner. I reluctantly opened the door and asked what they wanted. They were still shouting and shouted ‘Is that your car outside?’ I said ‘No’, they then said OK and walked away.
Next minute they were outside shouting in the road.
I didn’t feel safe and as they were freely trying to get into our room but couldn’t as we had licked the door from the inside I didn’t feel safe leaving my belongings when we weren’t here.
We drove home after this which was a 2.5 hour drive.

Good value accommodation

Good value accommodation in Aberystwyth. The current self check in procedure works well but this does require you to walk a few metres down the alleyway between the hotel and the neighbouring business premises. Not the most eye catching of entrances but please don't let that put you off, the room was superb. Recently refurbished to a very high standard. I would certainly stay again if visiting Aberystwyth again.

Very friendly Accomodation

Are you another world traveller who has never visited Wales? Shame!!This family run hotel is room only which is clean,comfortable,cosy friendly host Aled is a wealth of local knowledge. Perfect position on seafront for breakfast stroll victorian promenade for 300yds to Little Devils Cafe. A vibrant town oozing history and elegance. Visit!!

Great Dog Friendly Accommodation

The hotel is in a great location, right by the seafront. The rooms are good sized, clean with tea and coffee making facilities. The staff are lovely and very helpful. The hotel is dog friendly but please note there is an extra charge for dogs of £5 per night, per dog. We stayed on the first weekend of Freshers week and the hotel is right by the Pier Nightclub and the Chicken Lickin shop that the students use when they get out. This means that during this weekend it is noisy but I think if you stay any other time it wouldn't be. We stopped at the Pier last year and will be back for our daughter's graduation next summer - looking forward to it.

Great accommodation

My wife and I stayed in the hotel for a couple of nights, over the August bank holiday. The room was large and very clean with a slumberland bed and pillows that were very comfortable.

We had free access to WiFi and the room had a large screen TV a pedestal fan and plenty of tea/coffee/sugar/milk, etc.

We were directly above the man bar and overlooking the main street, yet we had no problems with noise.

If you're a VERY light sleeper, the hotel provides several packs of disposable earplugs in the room.

The staff are very friendly and the hotel is ideally positioned.

The only downside is the lack of parking at the hotel, but we knew that when we booked and there's ample parking in St Michael's church, which is about a three minute walk away.

We'll definitely be staying again.

Stopped Sat 17th Aug.
Bar quiet when we checked in, showed to our room via the bar through security door with password to access accommodation was on 1st floor overlooking street large Bedroom with separate bathroom both large and clean.
had no issues with noise even though it was Saturday night. would definitely use again if staying in Aber .

We popped into the Pier Hotel for a few pints on two consecutive cold January nights. The pub was warm and cosy and we found the lager to excellent and very well priced. We chatted to the friendly landlord who has renovated the bar in a stylish and eclectic fashion. The locals were friendly and there was a broad age group from young people to pensioners. All in all a great British pub.

Excellent Hotel

Could not fault the place, excellent room - really big, warm and clean. We had one room with a double bed, bay window and then a little hall with the bathroom over the hallway - all within our room. Large screen TV and a desk plus 2 armchairs. The room overlooked the main street and the Pier. We were above the bar which was not an issue. We got a very friendly welcome and were given all the usual local advice. You can park on the sea front to the left of the pier for free for the duration of your stay. If you park to the right there is a 4 hour limit. There is also a car park at the church up the road opposite. We also used the bar to sit and have a couple of pints and play cards with our 8 year old. The bar was not that busy and the locals friendly enough. I would definitely recommend the Pier Hotel. There is an Indian restaurant just up the road and round the corner as well. It's also close to the main street, the beach, the Pier, The War Memorial and the Castle. Really good value and very well located.
