A drab, grey, depressing place.

Drove 2 hrs from Shrewsbury to the coast. Couldn’t let dogs on ‘beach’. Parked near promenade but I can’t remember another UK resort being so uninspiring. Drab, grey, run down, absolutely nothing of interest. Nowhere jumped out at us to even have a coffee. Found one fish and chips takeaway hidden near promenade but they didn’t take cards. A disappointing dump that we’ll certainly never visit again.

Helps keep the water out of the town

This is a bit of a dated seafront but I liked it for its combination of food suppliers and places to sit and watch the sea while eating. There may have been a beach belown, if the tide had gone out. The town generally smelt more of urine than I remember from previous visits.

lovely promenade

The buildings are all painted in different colours so make it look vibrant. Lovely walk along the promenade and over-sized deckchairs to sit in or take photos of. Sandpit on the prom for little ones. Parking free unless you are at the far end of South Beach. The sand is a bit gritty so really need shoes. I saw the dolphins at South Beach whilst enjoying an ice cream. Toilets at both North and South beaches.

Dirty old town

Dirty old place looks run down. The only good thing about it was the fresh hot doughnuts from the snack hut.
Not somewhere I would want to go out my way to visit.

Parking meters

We went today, we got a parking space down on the sea front very easily but could not work the ticket machine, we ask a gentleman who was painting the railings and he said lots of people find it difficult, While we were deciding to try another car park to more people tried and they could do it. We went to another car park and there was another man having trouble buying a ticket, so we left. What we saw of Aberystwyth looked really nice as we drove past all the road works .

We only wanted a look around and a walk along the front. Why make parking so complicated. £1/£2 cash is all it takes.

Amazing views!

The seafront has amazing views were you can sit and watch the sunsets each evening.

The place is located on the seafront as it has shops and restaurants that are near to the seafront.

I would highly recommend this place to people.

Nice long promenade

We were able to park on seafront for 4 hours - free. Nice walk along promenade with access to beach in various places.

A Great View of the Seafront from Constitution Hill

A veryvaried sea frontage with the stump of the Victorian pier, resedential properties, B&Bs, hotels, etc. The University of Wales hasa an old frontage onto the sea and the remains of the castle stand out against the skyline. A great view from the Constitution Hill which you can reach via the funicular. Interesting display at the 'Consti' of the devastation wreaked by a storm some years back.
