I was concerned about my fitness and the hills of West Wales. As my partner had a bike already I hired a bike from Crys Melin (yellow jersey I'm told). Scott the owner recommended an E-bike. Wow, thank you Scott my partner couldn't keep up with me on his superbike.
Scott was so helpful, he had a range of bikes and delivered it to me. The Trek bike I hired came with a pannier that contained all the safety equipment need to repair a puncture and a helmet. The bike had a motor that had 3 modes and Scott assured me it would get me up any hill and go for 60 miles. The bike he told me was capable of road biking and even some rough gravel surfaces. He gave us a thorough rundown of how the bike operated and also gave us a map of some OS printed routes that he and locals do themselves.
We opted for a 30-mile route around Nant Y Moch, a reservoir that supplies a hydroelectric power station and we were so glad we did. Such a beautiful ride with amazing views with lunch at the red kite centre. The route was a lot more remote than expected but that made it more enjoyable. Scott had given us the security of his contact number and said if there were any issues at all just to call him and we would have someone there to help us. The homemade Welshcakes he put in the pannier for us was an extra bonus when we stopped to admire the dam.
A great experience made all the more enjoyable by a great team that Crys Melin is.. Bikes were delivered and collected by Scott and we even met his lovely family. They are a small local business that I would highly recommend and use again.

Scott couldn’t have been more helpful. We decided to hire bikes for our two weeks holiday and for a very reasonable price the bikes were delivered along with everything we needed for safety. He even provided maps with clearly defined cycling routes. When my fibromyalgia and labyrinthitis flared up we had to give the bikes up and again Scott couldn’t have been more understanding and helpful. He came to pick the bikes up and is giving us a very reasonable refund for the days we haven’t used the bikes. We highly recommend Crys Melyn Cycling for all cycling requirements.

Scott arranged a 4 day cycling tour for me and a few mates and the service he provided was fantastic - really top notch. Everything ran smoothly from the routes, the accommodation, the local knowledge, the daily support.... everything. He tailored everything to our needs, was flexible and really looked after us. Would recommend 100% to anyone looking for great cycling experience in Wales.

Four of us cycled the Ystwyth Trail from Aberystwyth to Tregaron. Scott was very professional and could not have been more helpful. The bikes were ideal and his advice as to the route just right. He went out of his way and made our day one to remember. We could not recommend him and his company more highly. Many thanks.

I just wanted to express in writing, how satisfied we were with the service and quality of the bikes we hired from you and how helpful and generous you were with your time.
The bike was brilliant as was the equipment you provided for free, spare tyre, puncture kits and panniers.
The route you recommended was superb and all with great service and local information for a very reasonable price. It was the best day of our holiday and the best value.
I wish you great success in your venture. I come from a beautiful place in the west of Ireland so I am use scenic locations but the the route you chose for us surpassed that, beautiful, tranquil and traffic free. The whole area was a hidden gem for us, I have visited the more popular Brecons and Snowdonia but the area around Aberystwyth is stunning also.

We booked the family bike ride and also organised bike hire with Scott. We had a really excellent day exploring this beautiful part of the coastline and ended up on Aberystwyth beach. Scott provides lots of information about the eco systems and local wildlife and his passion for the area shines through. We had plenty of pit stops where he did activities with the kids which kept them engaged and interested. Anwen met up with us and provided a lovely home made picnic (with home made Bara brith!) which we enjoyed in a gorgeous woodland spot before we continued our journey. I'm not an experienced cyclist but the terrain is mostly flat along the river with beautiful views. Scott & Anwen are greats hosts and took good care of us and our 6yr old loved it too. Don't hesitate to book if you want to explore this area with an expert guide. Highly recommended.

Fantastic bikes, with excellent service and support. The mountainous routes available are many and varied, suitable for all levels. The use of the ebikes made many more routes available to us. Highly recommended. Thank you very much!
