Lovely walk and on the day we visited the views were amazing at the summit as it was a clear day.
Took around 50mins from Car park and was a easy to moderate walk with some steep parts on the beginning sections.

This a challenging walk and requires a reasonable level of fitness. However, the views are worth the effort.

Well worth the effort, even at a slow pace you should reach the summit in under 2 hours, if your a walker under 1 hour. there are a couple of steep ( but short) climbs in the wood, once out the walk becomes more gentle and exposed where you can see buzzards, kites and kestrel and some fantastic views

The Skirrid starts with a steep path through woodland, which is not too bad as steps help the ascent. Expect a stiff climb to begin with, however. It's worth it for the views on the top ridge: Herefordshire on one side, the Black Mountains on the other. It's easiest to retrace your step and return the same way. Allow about 2 hours.

just come back from a 2 night stay with my mum at this beautiful place,wow what can i say!lovely place,the staff were amazing & made us feel very welcome & at home!the food was astounding,amazing value for money.such a beautiful place in a stunning location,well worth a visit & i will definately be back for another visit..& the ghosties didnt disappoint either!

Another National Trust rip off car park.
£2 for 2 hours or £8 for the day.
Signage available in the car park then nothing else all the way up to the Skirrid.
I screen shot the walk on the National trust page, just as well really as the one sign we did spot was on the floor broken.
The walk itself was great. We walked around the mountain as opposed to straight up. Such a beautiful place to walk but extremely boggy & slippery if its been raining for a few days prior to your walk so please wear sensible footwear and wear suitable clothing. Would recommend it for a nice couple of hours out.

Bit disappointed with how our walk on the Skirrid worked out. I looked on the National Trust website and the walk they recommend seems to be the opposite to how everybody else has done it. We went left around the mountain (most people go straight up) and then was expected to go up the steep path to the top. Unfortunately this was too steep for our children (we were pushing our luck a bit anyway as the youngest as dyspraxia/ hypermobility and finds long distances difficult). I was confident we could manage 1hr up, picnic then 1hr back down but in the end it took us 3 hours and we were exhausted. We had to go around the mountain to get home, as couldn't go up. Routes around the mountain are through forest and overgrown paths, not easy or enjoyable walking. Didn't actually end up at the top of the mountain at all. 4 miles walked. Could defintiely do with some proper signposting at the crucial junction and I'm a bit annoyed with the official National Trust walking route as literally no-one else we encounted went that way. Big carpark, no toilets.

I wouldn’t attempt to push a peak to the top. Some paths are steep and uneven.
