On a, sunny day such a lovely place to visit. Picnic benches avaliable. The museum is free, staff are friendly. It's small but interesting and well worth a visit .

Went to the castle and walked around the site which was pleasant and good to read the information on the plaques.
The museum is considering small very good and gives you good insight into the area and the history that it represents

Little museum but still interesting but unfortunately the castle is just a ruin with perhaps the gatehouse the best part.

A small but pretty castle within easy reach of the town centre where there is loads of parking. The museum is interesting and the views are gorgeous.

A nice short visit to the castle in Abergavenny, the castle is just ruins but worth a visit to something that once was a great place I imagine. There is a museum on site too but not much else, a short stroll from the town centre with its shopping and eateries. Peak holiday times and car parking can be an issue, public toilets in the car park too

The gatehouse is an imposing entrance to well kept grassy area ideal for picnics. The information boards regarding the history of the castle are good for adults and children . The museum while small is very interesting and the staff friendly and helpful. A good way to spend a hour and half. Free admission to both the castle grounds and museum .

Tucked away from the town centre, overlooking the water meadow, there are lots of info boards in the grounds and Keep describing how the castle was used and by whom, in days gone by. The surround walls also provide lots of shelter and create a sun trap for enjoying the vista.
Inside the Keep there is a very informative museum. I particularly liked the third floor exhibits which brought back memories of my childhood.
There is no entry fee, which is frankly ridiculous for such an entertaining attraction.

Had a nice walk around the grounds and ruins of the castle which is free to enter before taking a look inside the small museum which was interesting. It's worth your while to come here if you're visiting Abergavenny.

We were here before the museum reopened in February 22, but enjoyed a walk around the ruins and grounds, reading the info boards. Low key, but nice to be able to stroll there after visiting the market and a cafe in the town.

Dear Kim,
Only assistance dogs are permitted in the castle grounds and the museum. However Castle Meadows which is adjacent to the castle is dog friendly.
Can I bring my dog along?! Want to visit but will be on a dog walking holiday!! Xx
