We had a one to one tour as the only people there amazed as to why. Lovely place to visit and a nice little walk alongside the brook

We were fortunate that Mike was a available to show us round. He shared his knowledge with enthusiasm and thereby helped me understand some of the complexities of milling. There were also information boards. One could explore all three levels of the mill. We then walked upstream to see more of the 'waterworks' including the origin of the lade. It is a lovely walk with a number of information boards to encourage one to look out for the plants and animals.

Great little walk. Mill was closed, but still nice to do. Little information signs along the path were good. Will re-visit in the summer.

This is a really great spot for a picnic and a walk around the orchard and mill works. The mill itself is a fascinating trip back in time, fully working the mechanism is a wonder to behold, it feels really alive and the information and exhibits make it easy to imagine the lives of the millers of the past. Good facilities for light refreshments, seating areas and toilets.

A really warm welcome from the guide made our visit even more enjoyable. He knew how to get the balance right between giving you interesting background and leaving you to explore at your own pace. The mill is fascinating, but probably only takes an hour to see. However there is a lovely short walk up the mill lade. Would highly recommend bringing a picnic to enjoy on the many picnic benches, alongside a coffee and ice cream from the shop. Word of warning: only teas/coffees and ice cream/biscuits are available from the cafe.

Our property is as you say more than a conservation heritage building but is a wonderful quiet backwater where visitors can enjoy the beautiful grounds, picnic areas and walks. very interesting visit to see how the old mills operated. the staff member was very friendly and informative. There is also a walk around the outside. it is not a long visit but is definitely worth a visit.

We visited the mill today when it was officially closed. We were very lucky in that the wonderful, friendly couple who had just started working at the mill gave us a very interesting and informative tour. This was overshadowed however in our dogs' opinion by the fantastic woodland walk featuring the Barry burn and the lade channels of water. Much splooshing resulted in two very wet and tired hounds. Wonderful picnic areas make fir a great day out.Thanks for your time and enthusiasm in showing us round. Iain Mitchell.

We had found this place by chance and what a beautiful treat it is was.
Beautiful lands around about, a very interesting building that has a lot of history to it! Tour was really informative, staff were lovely.
Highly recommend taking a trip here, it will be well worth your time.

We hadn't intended to visit the mill, in fact we didn't know about it, but when we spotted the road signs decided to give it a go.
So glad we did. A fascinating building with so much history. The guided tour given by the young lady in attendance (sorry we can't remember her name) was excellent and because we were first to visit we had the tour to ourselves!
Who knew how many common phrases originate from milling.
Well worth the visit, but need to be more publicised so others don't miss out.

Hello, thank you for your enquiry. Yes, 2 of the 3 floors inside the mill are accessible to wheelchairs. We do have toilet facilities which are wheelahair accessible too. Please let us know if you any other queries.
