Castle Rock is visible from large parts of the city. The Castle on top is of course the interesting part, and when you are on castle rock you can't really enjoy it.. There are lots of tourists on top of it.

It is really impressive how Edinburgh Castle was built on a rock. The rocks are in great shape and don't look like they are going to fall down anytime soon.

Auberge très bien localisée, facile d’accès. Nous avons été logés à 4 dans une chambre de Max 6m2, c’est vraiment empiler les gens ! !! Pas de place et en plus sous les toits.
Sanitaires très propres, les nombreuses moquettes dans les dortoirs et couloirs sont plus douteuses et particulièrement pour les personnes allergiques.
L’espace commun est en revanche grand mais est squatté par les personnes qui séjournent à long terme et qui sont vraiment comme chez elles, on a un peu l’impression de déranger.

Edinburgh Castle is built on the rock - the remains of a volcano, long extinct. This rock is impressive when viewed from the ground of Princess Gardens , and has amazing views from with the castle grounds (subject to an entrance fee)

Naprawdę wspaniałe usadowiony zamek. Jeśli byłeś w środku to podejdź jeszcze u stóp skały. Ogromne wrażenie robi ten zamek patrząc od jego spodu. Prawie nie do zdobycia. Zdjęcia tego nie oddają dobrze.

Wonderful old castle complex, well maintained. Scottish Royal Jewels on display. Be aware of steep climbs, but beautiful views high above Edinburgh.

I never knew that there were volcanos in Scotland. But the majestic Edinburgh Castle sits on this dormant volcano remnant and it gives one a grand view of the surroundings. Tour the castle as well.

This is maybe the most beautiful and historical castles in Scotland if in the whole Europe. The castle was built on a huge rock. The most interesting part is the prison area, the War museum and great Canon on the top.
