Very informative and friendly tour. Neil the tour guide was very funny and definitely knew his stuff. Even a free taster at the end.

The tour was great and very informative! We were lead through the distillery and could have a look in the different pots and have snift. Our tour guide Brian was absolutely amazing!

A private tour with Niel. My first taste of whiskey. I’m in love. With both.
With a lot of passion, information and humour Niel toured us ( we were a group of 25 crazy Swedes) through the distillery an evening in April.
A lot of whiskey, a lot of laughter and shopping later we took the taxi back to Glasgow.

A great tour with a very experience tour guide (Allan) and a fantastic tasting afterwards. It was a pleasure to be there.

I’ve been on whisky tours before but Neal was an AMAZING guide. I learned a lot and he was smart, funny and made the time fly. Lovely whiskies, and I think maybe the best tour guides at Auchentoshan!

Fantastic welcome at the security gate directing us exactly where to park and where to find the entrance.
The shop is lovely, warm tones and very well stocked with quality merchandise and of course whisky.
We were collected together with others and taken on a fantastic tour of the distillery which explained just why their whisky is different from everyone else.
The tasting at the end was different - a small dram and also a hot toddy in a wee tin mug that you got to keep.
Excellent value for money and a great place to visit.
There is no coffee shop for lunch so head 10mins away to Bowling Marina down by the canal where there is a great wee coffee shop!
Would certainly be be back to both!

Auchentoshan offers a very good, comprehensive presentation of the whisky-making process and tour of their distillery just west of Glasgow. This was our second time visiting Auchentoshan over the last year, and our 4th distillery tour over as many days. I can say categorically that Allan was the best guide of the bunch. He offered substantive information and discrete commentary, and he read our small group well. As locals, we hope to have Allan guide us again on return visits.

Hi Janette,
If your staying in the city centre you can either get a cab ( pricey) or the train to either Clydebank ( then taxi) or Dalmuir where you can walk to the Distillery in about 20 mins. You may pick up a cab in Dalmuir but their a bit like hens teeth in this area post Covid. X

Does anyone remember roughly how much a ticket was for the tour? Their booking website is currently suspended due to covid. But I just want to plan ahead for my visit later on in the year.

How much is the tour and do I have to pre-book? Visiting balloch 13-16 Feb and thought it would be fun to do.

I didn't have to pre-book. I think it was £10 for the tour (with a couple drinks) and then we also did a tasting that was £20.
It was quick, simple and fun. Perfect for a couple hours. You can check their website for options.

Is it possible to visit the distillery and do a tasting in the visitor's lounge/bar for a fee or have to take a tour? Thanks!

I don't know is the simple answer. However they are very customer friendly, so I would either email them using the link for the tour, or call them.
