A fun experience!

Never been a fan of scotch but something convinced me to sign up for this tour on our recent Scotland trip. Turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. The distillery tour was interesting and especially well done. The female guide kept things moving along thru the entire production process and eventually to tasting. It was late AM and I had been a bit concerned on a morning nip but it was really a load of fun and Glengoyne unlike other scotch I have had is not sickeningly sweet. If you are in the neighborhood, sign up for the tour!

Top notch tour

My first distillery visit and it was a great one. The site has a beautiful infrastructure, packed with history. The staff was very welcoming and I received a very decent elaboration from the tour guide. I got the opportunity to taste some quality whisky, and I couldn't help but have a quick stop at the distillery shop. Afterwards I went for a long walk to enjoy the surrounding area. There couldn't be a better way to spend the last day of my trip.

Tolle Führung mit Tasting

Wir hatten die „The Collection Tour and Tasting“. Hervorragend wurde der Prozess der Herstellung erklärt und auch Unterschiede zu anderen Destillen wurden beschrieben. Sehr gut zu verstehen auch für Oxford-English Sprechende 😊. Das anschließende Tasting fand in sehr geschmackvollem Ambiente statt und es wurden 12-jährige, 18-jährige und 21-jährige Abfüllungen serviert. Alle begleitet mit einer wunderbaren Schokoladenpraline, abgestimmt auf den jeweiligen Whisky. Der Tourguide erklärte, wie man das Tasting am besten durchführt. Nachher gab es im Shop mit dem Tour Ticket einen nicht unherheblichen Rabatt auf einige Flaschen. Wir waren ca. 2 Stunden auf dem Gelände der Destillerie.

We had booked the tour as first stop on walking the West Highland Way. It was a perfect break and the tour was very informative and entertaining.
The bottle we bought lasted until Kinlochleven :)

An excellent place to visit to experience the production of whisky followed by a tasting. The tour was carried out by Holly, who was passionate about the distillery and the role that everybody played in the process.

Visite tour and tasting en famille. Le cadre est tres sympa. Les explications données par le guide sont tres intéressantes. A la fin de la visite nous avons dégusté 2 whisky. Dommage qu’il n’y ait que des guides anglophones et qu’aucune boisson non alcoolisée ne soit proposée aux enfants.

Premium- service all the way. A tour around the distillery and some coffee and whiskey tasting in the launch. And the best thing of all meeting Robbie and Stuart by the waterfall and hear about the next project Rosebank. An exclusive tasting of a 30 y Rosebank just knocked my feet away.
As a cask-owner I’ll be back. Again and again and again. 🥃💧🌳

We visited Glengoyne Distillery on Sunday 14th May. The staff were very friendly and courteous. We went on the tour with the guide Benny. He was very knowledgeable and was open to any questions being asked. It was a surprise to find out he is related to the original owners of the distillery. We would definitely recommend this tour.

Good Glengoyne tour and tasting

Don’t wear a skirt or dress! (The top floor has a mesh flooring which they can see up through). Both tours only have a 45 minute tour. One has 3 samples and a truffle and one has 2 samples. We opted for the cheaper one with 2 samples as the tour length was the same. We wish we could have paid more and had a good 1 to 1 and 1/2 hour tour as I came away with more questions than I went with!! E.g. how much does a whiskey connoisseur make before tax? Do they do apprenticeships there? How many staff do they hire? Why can’t they move a cask from one cask to another when it is half full due to the angel process? Where are all of the casks stored? Is the wood which the casks are made from sustainable? What sort of farm animals will make the use of the excess barley? Why isn’t there a process of scientifically seeing if whiskey is ready (instead of tasting and sniffing it). What happens if the whiskey Connoisseur has a cold? How did covid affect their operation? Why isn’t whiskey sold in mini wooden bottles (surrounded by glass) to allow the fermentation process to continue?

Great staff in shop

I stopped here about a month ago. Made a note to leave a review when I was less busy. On way from England to Oban, this was aa pit stop. Look around the store, use the bathroom, buy a bottle for later. Staff in shop very good, friendly. Usually at distillery shops there are grabby, push sales types. Not a bit of it. Lady who served me informed me that the bottle I bought was available with a free glass. I'd missed the better offer so she let me know. Then I set off, road closures meant that SATNAV sent me in a circle. I went back in the distillery shop and 3 different staff members tried to help, using the computer on the till, their own phones to help me get on the right road. That's service, that's hospitality. Oh, and the whiskey was superb.
