What a great Tuesday evening, there was some free food which was a really nice touch. Dj, Sax and a magician!! Service was so welcoming and made us feel like we are visiting friends! 10/10

Amazing place was the bees knees and amanda with her table service and terry that magic man is amazing entertainment aswell as the live sax 10/10 we will be back !

The staff team and service was unmatched. It was my partners birthday and every team member went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. I personally am very fussy as to what bar I go to in Glasgow and blue dog was recommended to me, and did not disappoint, and exceeded my expectations in every way! The standard of service, atmosphere, quality of environment and quality of staff members is very rare and hard to come by especially in Glasgow and I cannot fault it, considering I am very hard to please. The drinks reflected the prices and the cocktails were a 10/10. A massive well done and thank you to the staff team, establishment and even the bouncers on the door. Blue dog have 100% gained a new regular couple! ❤️❤️

Blue dog is a favourite of mine and I always go when I’m in Glasgow so a couple of times a month. Was looking forward to seeing it after the refurb and it is nice.
I would say I just can’t understand why the toilets have not been touched. The women’s smell damp, have toilet seats falling off and damaged and the machine on the wall has never worked with ‘out of order’ written in marker. It really brings the place down. Very disappointing.
The menu is ok, streamlined now and a couple of favourites now gone but the cocktails are lovely.

Great, friendly atmosphere of people all ages. Cocktails were fantastic we tried Pretty in Pink, Blue Dog, Strawberry Daiquiris, Negronis and they even made us a Lemon Drop which wasn't on the menu. Only cocktail that wasn't so good was the White Russian, it was a bit too sweet and sherbert taste from it. The pianist was so good, playing a wide variety of songs. Great night for a birthday celebration.

We had our first date night in the blue dog 10 years ago and due to life getting busy and covid, this was the first time in about 5 years since we had been. It has had a make over inside but the vibe is still the same. Old style cocktails a staple and you won’t taste anything better in Glasgow. Tried a couple of new ones which were amazing as well and because everyone is sitting quite close together you get to chat to people you wouldn’t normally speak to. It won’t be so long until we go back as we absolutely love it here

Looked forward to a visit post refurb, and wasnt disappointed in the quality of the bar and how it looks. Done well, but unfortunately the money seems to have run out before they reached the loos which were as unpleasant and untouched as I remember them. Menus difficult to read (why have dark menus in a dimly lit bar...style trumps practicality), reduced menu, overly loud live pianist (both were great, just if you have to shout to be heard by your drinking partner, you need to turn the amp down), and service was very variable depending on who you got behind the bar - lady was very chatty about the cocktails and ingredients, whilst male server literally didnt say a word, communicating by raised eyebrows, a nod of acceptance and a look at the cash machine for payment. He wasnt mute because he was chatting to other bar staff - it just gave off an elitist vibe and meant we didnt tip consistently.
In summary - bar was cool, but it wasnt somewhere I enjoyed going, suspect it would be more fun in a large group.

Good points - good atmosphere and nice cocktails
Bad points - service was extremely slow, we were waiting over 20 minutes for one round. We also had to ask for water 4 times before we went to the bar and had to pick them up ourselves. We are also told that we had to leave our table in 20 minutes despite the fact no one told us this when they sat us and would have stayed longer. When I pointed this out, I was told simply we have a booking that is booked for there and very much a tough luck attitude

Because the staff are so fantastic, there's nothing stopping you asking them to use their discretion to reserve you a table (bear in mind that there aren't that many tables!) 👍
