Glasgow - Fantastic Whiskey Walking Tour

My friends and I spent an incredible afternoon walking the streets of Glasgow, while our professional guide Mark taught us the history of his wonderful City. Our tour had a great pace, stopped often at incredible whiskey bars & we tasted all kinds of varieties of Scottish whiskey. This was by far my favorite activity in Glasgow and this tour is a must do! Thanks Mark for the souvenirs, the memories and the history! I now am a whiskey drinker & enthusiast!!! - Chris from Louisiana

Great tour

Mark was an excellent tour guide. This tour is great for walking around Glasgow, learning the history of the city, visiting some of the best whisky bars, and learning about and tasting the whiskies. Mark went above and beyond what we could have reasonably expected. One of the most memorable parts of our two-week trip!

Best tour you can take in Glasgow

My son Matt and I had the pleasure to take this tour yesterday and if we could give this experience 6 stars we would. 6 hours with 6 pub stops might seem a lot - but the time flew and at the end we were not really that tipsy. We received excellent historical and architectural info and stories at many stops between city centre and west end, sampled excellent whisky with a full discussion of the making of the product, got snacks partway and finished off as good friends. Outstanding value, very professional handling when registering and prior to tour start and highly recommended.

We had so much fun with Mark. He not only was passionate about the amazing whiskies that he introduced us to, but he truly loves the city of Glasgow and showed us the best of it. I’m so glad that we decided to do this tour. I think it was my favorite part of Scotland. Thanks, Mark!

I had the opportunity to invite several exchange students from Vienna onto this tour of the city, and it was the perfect way to welcome them to Glasgow. With a combination of history, architecture, art, culture, (whisky, of course), and humour, Mark's tour was exactly what we'd hoped for! The students were delighted with the tour (:

An excellent afternoon all round. Mark is extremely knowledgeable, combining fountain-like knowledge of whisky and Glasgow in one fun package! Lots of thought and effort has clearly gone into this. Highly recommended.

It was my father-in-law's birthday the next day and Mark even thought to bring along a gift (whisky-related of course!)

The best way to see (and taste) Glasgoe

This is the best day out in Glasgow. Whisky, history and the story of the city all in one fantastic tour with one of the loveliest tour guides in the world (I admit he’s a friend but he’s still amazing). I’m in Glasgow all the time but I still learned and saw bits of the city I had no idea about. The whisky was so good, some really different tastes, lovely bars and Mark’s personalised whisky choice for me at the end was spot on. Not just a top tip for tourists but one for the locals as well. You will not regret taking a Dramble

What a fantastic day.

This tour was so much better than I was expecting. I was expecting a walk to several different bars tasting a couple of Whiskey's and that would be that, far from it. While we made our way to each bar Mark talked about the history of Buildings, areas of the city and Glasgow as a whole. His knowledge of Glasgow is second to none, I've lived in Glasgow all my life and I found that part of the tour very interesting. When we are at the bar's he has a Whiskey for us to try, he explains the history of Whiskey, where it comes from and how that effect the taste. Again Mark's knowledge is amazing so much so that by the time we get to the last bar he was able to pick a Whiskey for me, he worked it out from what i liked and didn't like during the tour. He was spot on with his choice. Mark's projects and air of excitement and enthusiasm through out the tour, which clearly shows his love of Glasgow and Whiskey. I highly recommend this tour you will not be disappointed. Thank you Mark for a fantastic day.

Actually changed our lives!

First visit to Glasgow was only 48 hours. We wanted a good taste of the city without getting trapped in the tourist mill. This tour was perfect. It felt more like having an old friend who knows the best secrets of the town showing you around. But how would that change our lives? The answer is whisky. We did not know whisky before that day. Mark, like a careful physician plying healing treatment, brought the water of life into our lives. Now liquid gold brightens our every day. Many thanks we owe to the Dramble for changing our lives! Sláinte!

Highlight of our trip!

My sister and I travelled to Scotland to camp and hike, we only had a few short days in Glasgow and Edinburgh as we are not really big on cities. We booked this tour based on the recommendations on here. We had no prior knowledge of Whiskey or Glasgow going in. We booked the tour late the night before and within a couple hours we received an email from Mark asking us about our knowledge and any food preferences we had. We showed up for 1pm the next day and to our surprise (and secret delight) we just happened to be the only ones on the tour. Mark was incredible... just unbelievable. He is someone who really just appreciates the city and loves whiskey and just wants to share all of those passions with you. The walking part of the tour delivered a ton of history and hilarity and will make you fall in love with Glasgow. I know I definitely did.



The whiskey, ahhh the whiskey. Alright, so other than a couple sips here and there, I had no prior pallet or taste for the stuff. But now? I am hooked. Mark takes you around Glasgow sampling various whiskeys at different bars in town. You leave this part of the tour with a true appreciation for not only the history of Scotland's whiskey production but a newly found pallet for tasting. I left Scotland with one bottle for my collection (on Marks recommendation) and have since returned home and added 4 more. I'm obsessed and its all his fault.



Conclusion. Please book this tour, you will not regret it. The tour itself was only supposed to last from 1pm to 6pm and we did not finish until 9pm. That is just how dedicated Mark is to making sure you get everything out of it. If you do book this tour, book it your first day. The information you gather will help you for the rest of your trip. Mark had mentioned so many great things to see and do in Glasgow during our tour and of course by the next day we forgot all the ones he mentioned. Then we looked at our email and there was a message from Mark with a list of all the things we might be interested in. We did as many of them as we could. This tour shaped the remainder of our trip for the better.
