We sliepen in Wick en op mijn ochtendwandeling ben ik naar het kasteel gelopen. Er is niet zoveel meer van over en je kunt er ook niet in. Maar de wandeling, de ruïne en de kliffen zijn zeker de moeite waard.

Beautiful coastal walk from Wick

Very scenic coastal walk out to this site from Wick proper. Community members out walking together and with their dogs and people from all over the world detouring to see this site. Great photography opportunities, and you can take a different path back to the road into town passing the groceries.

Best to follow sat nav down March Rd rather than brown tourist signs from town which send you a much more complicated route. Lovely ruin with excellent views. Worth a stop

Popped in as part of our NC500 journey. Down a gravel road with speed bumps so take it slowly. Free parking and a short walk to the castle (you can see it from the car park)! No toilets or cafe

This small ruin of a castle is easy to get to by road with a parking area close by. A short walk gets you to the outcrop it is on with sheer drops either side if you don’t keep to the path.
Worth a leg stretch if in Wick

Breathtaking views. Easy place to park. The sat nav will take you one way and the signs in the town take you a different way but you can park at either. Beautiful walk and stunning views.
