We visited during the first week of December on a beautiful crisp cold day. Amazingly, we were the only people booked on our chosen sailing, and, although it would have been understandable if the booking had been cancelled, it went ahead anyway, and we had a personal tour. The two chaps who manned the tour were lovely and treated us (and our dog) really well, and we had the best time. The views were breathtaking and we learned lots of interesting facts! Also, the Baileys hot chocolate was delicious, and Obi loved his pup cup! Thank you so much - we highly recommend you.

Wonderful sail on Loch Katrine on the SS Sir Walter Scott amidst stunning scenery that inspired the 19th century Romantics. A tranquil afternoon out that is highly recommended.

Sailed on this boat as part of a coach holiday in Scotland. Sat out on the front of the ship.
slightly spitting and fresh but we stayed there all the sailing. When getting off we saw blankets inside the boat were available for the outside decks. No mention of these in the announcements and when I mentioned on my exit of the boat that they should mention that rugs were available for the outside decks I was just wafted away off the ship with the man's hand. So flipping rude. Not even a yes thank you for letting us know we will mention them in future .

A pleasant experience. Unfortunately the weather wasm't kind, which spoilt the views. I have done this in the past, so I knew what we were missing, but it was a nice trip anyway.

We were touring Scotland in our motor home and it was a birthday celebration for my wife, What an absolutely fantastic find and visit. Right from the initial phone enquiry with a lovely lady Sandra and her chirpy warm and welcoming manner, that continued when we met her in person, not to forget her long suffering but equally lovely colleague Deb.
We stayed the night in the motorhome, went on the ship Sir Walter Scott, ALL the crew are so enthusiastic and friendly, you can’t help but like them, Neil an old salty sea dog looking chap, warm and helpful.
The onboard barman Lucas polite and helpful, a lovely chap.
Reece a really pleasant young man who served and ran about like a headless haggis, but also befriended our dogs.
And a special mention to a guy called Tom, working hard and frantically behind the scenes.
There was another chap who’s name eluded us, but his numerous commentaries on board where balanced, informative and fun to listen too.
A great team, providing a great experience.
And finally the breakfast the following day really good, Thankyou to the Polish lady and her helpers.

Thankyou so much for looking after my dog Jojo and I.
The very helpful lady who works in the booking office made sure we got a pod to sleep in after a gruelling trek on The Great Trossachs Path.
She could not have done more for us and is a credit to the entire experience.
My thanks are also extended to the lovely lady who runs the Loch Katrine eco pods. Wonderful stay.
The boat trip itself too was informative and very enjoyable.
Many thanks from Martin and Jojo.

The drive itself at times feels like you’re on a rollercoaster ride but hold on… I promise you it is well worth it once you get there!
Hidden in the highlands you will find the historically beautiful loch Katrin surrounded by phenomenally magnificent scenery and the steam ship “Sir Walter Scott”
If your like us… we are engineering buffs and really appreciate the beauty and dedication of Victorian engineering… then this is the afternoon experience for you.
From the second we stepped on board we were welcomed with smiles and enthusiasm. My fiancé and I would really like to thank Captain Steuart for his professional and witty informational dialogue over the tannoy throughout the tour. We would also like to thank the Captain and Larry the Engineer for telling us more about what is involved to enable the engine to work and giving us a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the engine working up close.⚓️🛥️🛠️
The gift shop displays an extensive range of gifts- defiantly something there for eveyone whether your budget is big or small.
The cafe facilities- The building it self is stunning and set within the rock face. The food was good, hearty and filling. Although be warned if you want the chicken nuggets you must be under 16 and a child.
We suggest that this rule please be reconsidered as some adults crave kiddy foods too.
The toilet facilities were fantastic. Clean and topped up with paper towels.
Overall an immensely amazing experience. My fiancé and I really enjoyed ourselves and it was the perfect ending to our Anniversary weekend. ❤️😍🥳

Really enjoyed the 45 minute trip. Our captain and guide, Neil, was absolutely fantastic. So knowledgeable about the area and full of humour, which is what makes Scotland great. We took our dog on, which was no problem and she was given lots of attention. Nice gift shops and cafe on the pier, with excellent facilities on site. This is a superb way to spend some time and immerse yourself in the stunning surroundings. Even though we didn’t sail on the steamer, our boat was great and we got great views of the Sir Walter Scott as she sailed by. Would highly recommend.

Bought a wowcher and took my 84 year old father on a wee magical mystery tour - although he did just want to sit in front of the tv all day - he managed to smile- lovely wee cruise - nice and warm in the cafe area with a wee coffee and a tunnocks - bought on board. Lovely staff from the reception to the boat. Good commentator and beautiful scenery

Many thanks to all staff and in particular Sandra who took our booking and advised us on same.
All staff were extremely informative, patient, helpful and kind - all a credit to Scottish Tourism.
Myself, my carer and her wee sidekick (Therapet dog) had an absolutely wonderful day on Saturday 6th July 2024 creating really lovely memories for us both.
This was my third journey on Sir Walter Scott and hopefully I will be back soon.
Again, many thanks for a perfect day and experience :)

Best to have a look on the website as there are various sailings, round trips and even special events that could affect timings. Week-ends tend to be busy so booking in advance is advisable.
