Played here a couple of days ago and was our favourite of the five courses we played in the area. The pro shop was friendly and helpful.

A really good parkland course with a number of holes near the harbour. Some holes in a quarry. In good condition. Welcoming clubhouse. Good locker rooms. Recommended

A really special golf course and club, excellent facilities, professionals shop, well equipped with friendly and most helpful staff.
Perfectly maintained buggies and the latest Powakaddy trolleys, mine was brand new.
The course was in tiptop condition, ground staff friendly and unobtrusive beavering away.
This is a proper golf club with pride and passion. A great pleasure to spend our time playing and taking in the scenery and a really enjoyable course to play.
Maybe the proximity of holes and a cross over could cause a moment or two but bearing all in mind a repeat visit is a must.

A different kind of golf course set out across a mish mash of terrain and extended by Dr Alister MacKenzie (of Augusta fame) from 9 to 18 holes early in its history. The professional Peter Hickey is very helpful and we hired two very decent sets of modern irons (Titleist AP1 & Taylormade MP2) as we had been travelling light throughout Ireland.
The first three holes represent a fair & decent test but the real fun begins on the par4 and par5 4th and 5th holes which hug the banks of the River Lee. You need to keep it straight otherwise you’ll end up in the drink. The sixth hole is a delightful short par4 tucked at the end of the quarry. Hit one more club in as it’ll stop on the upward sloping green and roll to the lower tier.
The course was a delight with friendly members. Even the last loop of slightly ‘out of character’ four holes, to the side of the practice ground, were fun - the 16th and 17th being quality ‘holiday golf’ type holes.
Decent locker rooms with bundles of fluffy white towels for the showers. Excellent clubhouse food and views back up the 14th fairway. All-in-all, this is a wonderful spot.

Having read previous reviews we were excited to pla Cork Golf Club. However, it was costly at 100€ and in our opinion did nit live up to the hype. The visitor is let down by poor signage and not always able to find the next tee easily and on one hole we never did find the green tee box. We recognise that the weather has been challenging but the course was not in tip top condition but the price was. Round trip it cost 70€ For the taxi, not reliabke, and to have paid €300 for a round of golf did the taxi we did not feel that it was whatsoever value, particularly as the course was not in the best condition. For you other golfers out there reading this we are both 17 handicap and have played many courses on our travels.

The original 9 hole was converted to 18 by Alister Mackenzie, who designed many great courses, including Augusta National where the Masters is played. Originally a par 78, it has been lengthened over the years to keep the challenge as close to the original as possible. The changes have resulted in a few tees being moved behind greens requiring some polite waiting at times. Wonderful variety, a classic.

I played this course for the first time yesterday, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best I have even had the pleasure of playing. Beautifully laid out, in fantastic condition and extremely scenic, there are few corses as good as this in Ireland.
This was followed by a generous and tasty lunch in a very relaxing and comfortable dining room, for a frankly unbelievably low price.
Overall, a 5 star experience and I cannot wait to play and eat there again.
Top marks all round! 👍😄

We visited the club recently and must say that, the condition of the course was excellent. However the slow play is a major problem bearing in mind that you have a mixture of players and formats playing at the one time. You have both men and a lot of women more so than we have seen anywhere, in addition to juniors playing as four balls, in twos and threes. What a pity that, the club does not engage a course marshall who could monitor play. We thought five hours was far too long to play such a short course while our membership course is longer and can be got around faster with super and proper organisation. The rough needs attention as too much time is being wasted looking for balls which is contributing to delays. There are little or no seating facilities which is a disgrace. The 4th, 7th, 11th/12th & 17th holes need work carried out in getting rid of scub and unsighlt bushes/gowth.
Unfortunately the food menu has not changed in many years, its boring outdated and lacks presentation . Whats being served is so basic a major review needs to be done in this area.
Saying the above the course is improving but still has a long way to go.
