Cute little museum

It’s a nice small museum that shows many different types of printing machines, the best part is that those machines can still be used instead of being old and broken antiques.
The staff was nice and informative. I even got a mugshot poster showing my name, which is an interesting and good souvenir!
The short clips of each machine were also very nicely done and showcased how the machines were operated.

Super visite!
Très intéressant et l'accueil est très chaleureux. L'accès est gratuit et les guides du musée proposent des explications et anecdotes supplémentaires aux nombreuses vidéos explicatives.
Il est possible de faire imprimer le texte de notre choix sur une affiche et repartir avec ce qui fait un petit souvenir (gratuit) très sympa et à l'étage, les enfants peuvent dessiner et faire des origamis en suivants des tutoriels mis a disposition.
Pour 5 euros seulement, il est possible de faire une visite guidée.
Un café situé à la sortie du musée propose des brunchs, boissons chaudes et desserts dans une serre.

Enjoyable visit

We had an interesting visit to this museum. We were shown how the print was made and then given a self guided leaflet and there were videos at each stopping point You can have a guided tour too, but we enjoyed wandering around the machines.
There is a nice little cafe at the back and two of us had a sourdough toasted Greek cheese sandwich, and one of us had a sausage roll. We shared a jug of water and then had teas and coffee.
The museum is right at the back of Beggars Bush Barracks and there was building work going on when we were there.

This has to be Dublins best kept secret, what a gem of an attraction. Ciaran was amazing so informative and attentive, this is a must visit and Olive and I will be back! Thank you so much for making our visit extra special

The visit was extremely interesting and Ciaran, the guide, was so kind and knowledgeable, you could really see that he is passionate about the subject. You also get to compose and print your name that you can then take home. Overall great experience, I would definitely come back and I would also recommend it to anyone who has even the slightest interest in printing.

Such a fascinating and interesting afternoon at The National Print museum. The tour guides Ciaran and Alexandra were so knowledgeable and helpful and I couldn't recommend the museum enough! Getting to print your own wanted poster keepsake was an extra unexpected plus.

This museum is truly a special place! I didn't know what to expect, but want to especially commend Ciaran for making the visit memorable. He was extremely knowledgable and very generous in sharing that. That the museum is not only actively protecting this important technology, but working to preserve the knowledge of the master printers that work there is so heartening. The special exhibit on commercial label design in Ireland also did not disappoint! I would visit again and again.

100% worth a visit

This museum is a great place to visit if you have an interest in the history of printing.
I visited this museum to go on a self-guided tour and its price was so affordable and worth it for the amount of information it provides its visitors!

The printing machines on display are fantastic and they offer a great amount of information on how they are used, what they are used for, and the history behind them.

Upstairs, they have a very child-friendly walk-around area that includes a history of printing pictures and words, and really just an informative and educational place for kids to enjoy their experience there and have more fun.

The staff working in this museum are so kind and enthusiastic and will assist with any queries you have about the place.

The press café directly beside it is such a delight to be in. They have a menu of food and drinks including hot drinks, fizzy drinks, wine, soups, sandwiches, and desserts. I ordered an Americano and it was absolutely lovely.

I would definitely recommend visiting this museum mostly because of the tranquil environment it offers to its visitors when taking a self-guided tour :)
