This was probably one of the best theatrical experiences of the last few years. A triumph of collaboration between artists and the community.

It was a night of Swing music. Boy those Westport folks sure know how to party, despite having seats folks were on their feet, energetically dancing the night away.
It was a joyful night of music with a 7 piece live band from Dublin, the Swing Cats with over two eclectic hours of mostly American tunes, "Putting on the Ritz", "When The Saints Go Marching In", "Mack the knife", "I Can't Take My Eyes Off You", "Mr Bojangles" "New York, New York". We knew the words of every single song and we sang along badly.
We used never to think much of our nights out and live performances but wu flu changed all that.
We didn't plan it, we only saw the poster in the concert hall window on a Sunday night and we managed to get two tickets side by side (€20 each) on the Monday way toward the back of the hall, which was fine. The place was packed out that night.
The town hall is a public sector arts centre that doubles up as the local tourist office and is excellently run by the local council, proving public services can be run way better than the overrated, often over - priced, private sector. The UK has a malevolent government hell-bent on destroying public service so the arts there will suffer at the hands of execrable thugs who have already destroyed, train, rail, water, education and health services.
The staff are fabulous. The chap who sold us the tickets recommended lots of things for us to do and we sure took his advice, in fact he booked a number of trips for us as well as the swing night. If you are nearby do check out what's on and treat yourself. We are delighted we did.

Hello, I was at a fabulous show in the Townhall on Wednesday October 20th. Great production and an enjoyable night. However, disappointed so much by the lax attention to COVID guidelines. A large group gathered around the space next to the entrance area and not only were none of them wearing masks, there was zero attention paid to social distancing. While I was asked for my COVID cert, I showed it to the woman at reception, she did not look at it and did not ask my friend who was with me for her cert. After the show several friends told me they were not asked for certs. This isn’t good news.

What is so fantastic about Westport Town Hall Theatre, is the eclectic mix of local, national and international entertainment that makes up its programme. The sell-out night for Reginald D Hunter was exceptional. Even he was taken aback by the audience response. This is one of the best venues on the West Coast.....atmosphere, intimacy and the staff are brill too!!!

Went to see RDH with some friends, booked tickets on line, website was a little clunky on a mobile device, but all worked out ok. Seating good, great view of stage, sound was perfect, and a great show to boot

We have been to the Theatre on several occasions for musical performances, theatrical plays, town hall meetings and even a comedy show. Our latest visit was to hear Colin Stafford-Johnson speak about his nature photography experience. It's a brilliant setting where everyone can see the stage clearly, it has a capacity of about 200 but feels intimate, like you're right there with the performers. Also, most shows are reasonably priced. A wonderful amenity for Westport, especially when the weather is not cooperating for outdoor activities.

First visit to Westport THT & it didn’t disappoint. Lovely, clean, comfortable venue. The staff were very helpful & friendly and David O’Doherty was brilliant! We will be back.
