Such a serene garden to sit and reflect. Catherine is very welcoming and warm, explaining her journey building her garden. Highly recommend stopping by and enjoying the Irish made art.

Shekina Sculpture gardens in the beautiful garden of Ireland is actually located quite close to where I live but I had never heard of it. Wicklow being a county forever offering gems it took me 6 years to find this garden and by accident would you believe! I thought I was taking my mother to the garden with the Indian deity statues, next on the list, but on arrival I knew this was not that place but definitely a place we were meant to visit.
I took my mother who was on holiday for the weekend from the west of Ireland and we had a wonderful and very unique experience at the Shekina sculpture garden.We were greeted by Catherine McCann who owns the Gardens and the whole experience opened up from there.I'm very reluctant to tell you too much about it because I want you to have the experience that I had.If you are there on the basis of seeing art and appreciating sculpture I promise you will receive so much more.If you are someone who likes to reflect on life and experience things that are happening currently in your life and and reconnect with yourself in the presence of nature in the presence of art then if you are visiting Ireland and in particular for visiting County Wicklow I would not hesitate in recommending you visit the Shekina Sculpture garden.It is a really beautiful experience. I feel that you take from that what you need and there is a sense of journey about the place.I took my sister back the following weekend who was also visiting us from the West and it was a completely different experience for me.So I think if you're visiting Wicklow now go now whilst you have the experience of meeting Katherine who's the owner of the gardens and and who will facilitate your experience and guide you. I would give it a good 9 out of 10 either for a solo experience or with a small group.It will open up conversation and help you I think connect with others and reconnect with yourself and reconnect with nature.

My husband and I didn't know what to do on a Sunday afternoon. We live in Dublin city centre. We knew there was more to explore in county Wicklow that we didn't visit before. At some website we found this garden and decided to give it a go. When we arrived we didn't know what to expect but a friendly lady came outside and invited us to see the beautiful garden.
She explained us everything about the garden. We learned how to see, hear, smell, tast and touch the garden.
Afterwards we had a tea with her and she explain more about the area and how she ended up in the beautiful place.
We passed by unexpected but it is normally recommended that you give a call first.

I was amazed to see that there was only one review and no pictures for this garden, when I researched it on Trip Advisor before accompanying a friend to "Meandering with Art and Nature" at Shakina Sculpture gardens. It is just one acre and has at least 18 sculptures placed around the garden. High trees and bushes all around, with a glimpse of the hill beyond, the colours many shades of green with some yellow and wine. Roses and window boxes scattered around.
While it is in the middle of nowhere, there are signs to guide you and a sign by the gate, with parking on the road outside near a bend, so care needs to be taken.
The owner, now the curator, gave a very informative talk about the garden. She has written several books which are for sale and has had an interesting life.
The garden is very peaceful and on the day I was there, we were invited to listen, feel, and see what was there and to share our thoughts. There were about a dozen people there when I was there.
One should telephone beforehand when planning a visit.

This is a relatively small garden where nature has been tamed to a quiet place for thoughtful reflection with the help of its creator/curator who provides suggestions on how the visitor should spend their time there.
