I came to Gloucester with four mates on a lads weekend with the intention of doing some sightseeing. The docks were worth the visit, we thoroughly enjoyed our tour on the Queen Boadicea II.
The tour guide was very informative, it was interesting to learn about the role that the boats had during WW2. The museum had some interesting exhibits too.

We first went here in the summer where there was a trail to do but have since been back for Halloween & Christmas. Your ticket lasts 12 months so offers very good value & will imagine we'll be back quite a bit in 2023.

I had been to this area at New Year when it was closed so made sure I called on my next visit. I got a one year ticket for £7.50 though I doubt I would call again within that period. The museum was well laid out on two floors and an outside area where you can view a dredger and some other boats. There were plenty of Staff/Volunteers around and the foyer café seemed well attended. There is a shop area which you can also enter without needing a ticket. Overall: an enjoyable hour or so.

Very interesting if you are into canals and the waterways. You go around at your own pace so it is up to you how long you take.

Good to see and hear how people on the canals worked years ago. Lots of exhibits and things to see. Right by the docks.

Small gem of a museum. Lots of written history and old videos of past times. Really great to see what life was like in gloucester years ago on the waterways.
Concession rate available and ticket is valid for a year so free to return or do a little bit at a time.

Fantastic museum with a friendly team. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Gloucester Docks. The museum is a couple of floors and also offers a boat trip along the canal. Lots for young families and there is also a lovely little cafe if you want a bite to eat. The tickets are valid for 12 months so if you’re a local like me, it’s definitely worth the money. Will definitely be coming back!

We wanted to have a boat trip but was too late, so instead of leaving we bought museum tickets to take a look around. What an awesome interesting place with lots of local canal history to learn about of how the Gloucester docks and canals were used many years ago. Both the inside and outside displays on offer we found very informative and so glad we decided to pay to do it.
If you have chance of visiting this area we highly recommend you do this museum to learn all it has to offer of the canal history around Gloucester wharf and Warehouses in years gone by. John & Sue Eastbourne UK

In context, we paid £2.50 to enter as a family as it was the 'Tall Ships' event weekend. I'm not sure it's worth the usual full admission price of over £20, as it is a small museum.
What stood out for us is how good the museum is for children's activities. They are in every corner. Dressing up, building, crafts, books, pulling weights, etc. There's loads for them to do.
There are some very good information panels. The story of the 'Bluebelle' boat really moved me.
You don't need very long here either. Probably under an hour tops. The coffee shop didn't seem very expensive and the staff were helpful.
