I have been here 3 times with my Mum and really enjoyed it.
I booked for Christmas to go on December 8th and paid for it in October.
I received an email to cancel this in November due to someone in the business dying and to this day (Jan 3rd) I still haven’t received a refund and they are not replying to emails.

I had booked a spa day for my sister and myself to use our gift vouchers we were given as gifts and turned up and the whole spa was closed!!! I tried ringing on my mobile but just an automated answering machine say the retreat was closed and not known if and when it will re open due to family circumstances
I have left a message but call not returned, but what about a refund for my gift vouchers is my concern

I was treated to an afternoon's spa here by my husband as a surprise for my 60th birthday on 18th October. My daughter, (who was in on the secret), came with me and we spent 4 hours relaxing and being pampered. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. We had a nice afternoon tea in the Georgian wood-panelled dining room, washed down with a glass of bubbly. The house is stunning and set in beautiful grounds, although we didn't get to see them at their best as, unfortunately, it rained, but that didn't stop us using the outdoor jacuzzi and sauna.

Enjoyed a luxury spa day with a friend back in August. We enjoyed our day and the treatments and definitely felt that we were being looked after. I can't rave about it though.
From our arrival with hot drinks and consultation, followed by some bubbles, and then on to the treatments, all in all, we had a good experience.
The breakfast of pastries was nice, and the lunch - as expected was a range of sandwiches and cakes. We had prosecco or sparkling wine pretty much throughout the day.
The treatments were very nice - back massage from Natalie was very good. The jacuzzi was nice - the hot tub not working. The sauna is tiny, but only two of us using it at any one time. There appears to be more building work going on in this area, so maybe a this will change.
We were told there was no Wi-Fi available for guests. This is quite poor in this day and age - especially as you are offering full day packages. I realise that you have not been running as a business for many years, but wifi is relatively simple technology now so offering to your guests on the basis that that it interrupts your business telephone line is not really acceptable.
The building has it's limitations in respect of changing rooms etc, and perhaps hot food cannot be prepared and served here - hence the sandwich lunch and shop bought pastries. (The cakes served with lunch were pretty terrible - definitely shop bought and not good at all). The sandwiches, whilst on fairly standard white/brown bread, were fresh and the fillings were perfectly pleasant. We were also served small bowls of fresh fruit - which helped.
The building itself is beautiful, but due to poor upkeep, it lacks any grandeur. It felt fuzzy and a bit old and unkempt rather than grand and stately. Nothing that a good polish to make the wood gleam and a feather duster to remove all the cobwebs and arrangements of beautiful flowers to fragrance the air wouldn't sort out. This place has the potential to become outstanding - the staff are lovely and knowledgable and the treatments are excellent. But to feel truly pampered, you need to feel that you are in really exquisite surroundings. The Homestead needs some TLC.

We visited the Homestead Retreat yesterday, five friends celebrating a 50th Birthday, and what a fantastic time we had.
From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and informative, nothing was too much trouble and the day had been planned out carefully so the day flowed nicely from the initial run through of what the itinerary would be and assurance that they would let us know when and where we would be at any given time to the amazing back massage at the end of the day.
The eye mask and leg or arm massage was lovely and the room we were in was a pretty comfortable room with comfy chairs, high ceilings and nice garden views. Biscuits and orange juice was available all day. We were then shown into a fantastic dining room which was all laid out ready for our afternoon tea. Sandwiches, salad and scones were delicious and the staff were very attentive. We then spent time relaxing outside in the sauna and hot tub before our treatment.
We will definitely be going back and would recommend this spa to anyone.

My Mum and I have been here 3 times to celebrate Mothers Day and birthdays and we absolutely love it 😀
We have the star package which is a mid week package for £69 including treatments and an afternoon tea style lunch and a glass of prosecco. We are both gluten free and are catered for really well, even being given home made scones which are delicious.
The staff are all really kind and friendly and the treatments are fantastic. I usually have a massage and it's done exactly how you like. You get some time in the garden area which is nice with hot tubs and a sauna.
The spa is in a beautiful building with lovely grounds.
We will definitely be back!

Went on a weekend half day package with a couple of friends to celebrate my 40th birthday. I did enjoy my time here with my friends and the building is stunning. However, it's the little things that let it down and stopped me giving 5 stars: no itinerary on how the day will run so a lot of waiting around without knowing what time things are meant to be happening (treatments). My confirmation email stated there would be unlimited biscuits and fruit but this wasn't the case. Unlimited drinks are offered but often nobody around to ask for water and the water machine in the lounge had run out. Toilet roll constantly running out (why not leave a few in each loo?). Nowhere specific to change (especially after coming out of the hot tub dripping wet through when there was nobody around to ask either) only spare treatment rooms, and no lockers. Our treatments were right at the end of the day - it would have been nice to know this in advance - we were initially told our afternoon would end at 4pm so some of us had made other plans for afterwards, but our treatments didn't actually begin until after 4pm. The website states lunch would be open sandwiches on fresh baguette, it wasn't, it was standard sorry looking sliced bread, and no homemade coleslaw was served either! Speaking of your website, it NEEDS updating as it is still wishing everybody a happy new year and talking about special offers in December 2016 and January!! Slippers are provided....but they are not slippers, they are massively large flip flops (in our case anyway), which I kept tripping on and which have been worn before by other guests! Eww! My gel manicure that I paid extra for was missing the 'scented soak' and exfoliation as advertised on the website. BUT, the treatments I had were lovely and I'm very pleased with my nails so I think I would go again. I just think these little niggles need ironing out to make the place the luxury spa retreat it is striving to be.

Великолепный подарок от моего партнера на день рождение. Хороший приём, хороший тритмент, массаж, джакузи. Оставляет незабываемое впечатление. Здание не переполнено и ощущение хозяина этого огромного, старинного дома. Рекомендую!!!!

Visited the Homestead Retreat for a mid week star package. Nothing to fault regarding the treatment or the staff. We thought the staff were very professional, friendly and catering for our needs. Left feeling very happy with our day. The price was very good value for the quality treatments and food we received.
However a couple of the couches appeared worn and we could clearly see there was damp on one of the walls. These were the only two issues to note and would have given the resort a 5 star if it had not been for this.
Despite this, thank you for a lovely day.

I went for my friends Hen do. There were 16 of us & we had exclusive use of the venue. 3 of us arrived 45mins early & the staff were not phased by this at all, instead they cracked open the bubbly & made us a huge pot of tea! The cream tea was delicious (although tell us the scones are home made to a secret recipe please-we don't need to know they're from Costco!). Nothing was too much trouble - more towels, more fresh robes, more tea, more bubbly! There is a water cooler in the lounge to help yourself. The service was faultless. Others on here have negatively reviewed the decor & furnishings, but I think they fit in perfectly with the period house. Storm Doris had damages their outdoor area so there was no canopy over one of the hot tubs, but there was a brand new canopy over the other that had been installed that morning. There was a table with flasks of tea & coffee by the hot tubs which was lovely on a slightly chilly March day. Yes, there's no swimming pool, but that didn't bother us & we had a fab time. We will definitely be returning.
