Highly recommended!
This was a fantastic experience. Right from the get go, Dominic, our instructor, was friendly, informative and enthusiastic. After a very clear and detailed briefing, it was time to go. Dominic took great care of me for all my flights, and was especially brilliant helping me walk with the VR helmet on for my final flight! Highly recommend the VR flight, it gives a whole other experience. A brilliant afternoon and I’m tempted to book again.

Amy the instructor made the experience great!
We received a voucher from friends last Xmas and only just got round to redeeming it. Easy booking process online, waiver completed and video watched before we went.
Really enjoyed the experience, something you don’t get to do very often (ok, first time in 44 years) and I’ve never felt the desire to chuck myself out of a plane - until I tried this!
I have to say our instructor, Amy, was absolutely brilliant. She was bubbly, friendly, knowledgeable and professional; she put members of the group at ease where there were nerves - she’s an absolute credit to iFly.
There were some seasoned fliers in and out of the air tunnel practicing for some championships and it was awesome to see them doing their formation things too. Didn’t buy the photos but we had family there taking photos from the viewing area!
A great evenings fun, thank you (and thanks to Amy again!)

An expensive way to get injured!

Not a great experience. Was injured during the second ‘flight’ session. Manager incorrectly filled out an accident report with his own words and did not seem that worried about the situation (direct quote: It happens all the time, you aren’t the first and certainly won’t be the last). I haven’t heard from them since the accident - even at the time there was very little concern shown. I was fortunate enough to have my wife on hand to drive my family home as I wasn’t able to.
The experience itself is ok as a novelty. Sensation wise its similar to going at speed on a motorbike. Getting the knack of balancing on the air is fun, but given that the flights only last a minute or so it’s all over very quickly.
Was it fun? Briefly. Due to the cost, and time actually in the ifly chamber I wouldn’t say it’s good value. Given the potential for injury and the lack of care / interest shown by staff I certainly wouldn’t recommend it as an activity.

Thanks for the review, although we are naturally extremely disappointed that we didn't perform well from your perspective. We take safety exceptionally seriously - it's our ultimate priority, and whilst injuries are extremely rare, your comments around the handling of an incident are of concern to us. Would you be able to supply greater detail to us directly, by reaching out to Tracy on tgoffin@iFLYworld.co.uk. We will gladly investigate further, as these comments are a million miles away from how we deal with these things. For the benefit of others reading this review, all of our instructors are first aid trained - it forms a fundamental part of their qualification training and that qualification is kept current. This means we always, 100% of the time, have a number of qualified first aiders on-site and our protocols around safety are religious and thorough. It is extremely rare that incidents occur, and when they do, they are typically handled impeccably, with sensitivity and professionalism. We're tremendously proud of our track record when it comes to safety. Regarding the length of your experience, we do indeed take those comments on board. Customers experience a minimum of 2 flights, although we do recommend more and it is entirely the customers' decision as to how many flights they take when they book. A single flight is well over the length of a single real skydive from an aeroplane at 12,000 feet in the air, so even our introductory experiences represent around 3 times the duration of a real 'freefall' outdoors. When you're flying in 120mph wind-speeds, and with the adrenaline pumping, we often receive comments that it felt like a lot longer! Significantly more time in the air-flow can also be quite physical to those trying iFLY for the first time - and these are all important considerations in terms of the overall make-up of our experiences. We think that a minimum of 2 flights is about right - although we recommend 4 for your first visit, or 5 for those who want to get the absolute most from their first flights (as part of our 'The Works' package). After the first visit, flights also become significantly cheaper on returning visits. Took my daughter and granddaughter as this was on my bucket list. Not the cheapest experience but we enjoyed it. The High Fly is a must. Granddaughter didn’t want to do her second flight so we were able to gift it to someone else in our group.

Overpriced and 'High Fly' part of your 2nd minute!

Booked this experience for my daughter's 13th birthday treat for her and 2 friends to do. She had done it before (4 years ago now but we used to go once or twice a month) but her friends hadn't. So, having been numerous times before, I could do a comparision. Firstly here is how thing had changed:

4 Years ago:
2 x 2 minute flights for £45 in peak times
High Fly £5 extra
High Fly an additional quick flight
Free photos available to download online after the event

Now:
2 x 1 minute flight for £65 in peak times
High Fly £10 extra
High Fly part of your 2nd 1 minute!
£9 for one photo or movie

As a parent, I felt utterly ripped off!

I appreciate that everything has gone up and many businesses are making up for 'post-Covid' losses but it really does feel that iFly are taking the Mickey here. For the first flight, fortunately my daughter could do some 'solo' flying as she was familiar with the technique (even though some time had passed) and didn't need to be constantly held on to by the instructor. Her friends, however, were pretty much held the whole time, as were most others, which must have been quite disappointing. I'm not sure if the public, as a whole, are worse flyers or the instructors are more cautious, but I don't remember people being held on to so much when we used to go. The minute whizzed by.

I'd told the girls they could have a High Fly if they wanted and they said they'd like to. Their 2nd flights came around and I was surprised to see the 'high fly instructor' go into the flight area. Then the 2nd flights started. Everyone who was high flying had about 10-15 seconds in the wind, being steadied, before he came in and took them up twice. They were then taken straight out of the tunnel - what?! The clock hadn't even counted down the minute by then. I was less than impressed with that but didn't want to show my anger with my daughter and her friends there. Smile and wave boys, smile and wave.

So, iFly basically charged me £65 for 80 seconds flying and an additional £10 to have a spin up to the top twice. So I've been short-changed by at least 30 seconds of flight time. By my reckoning, they owe me about 3 x £16. When will I get my refund? I did, after all, pay for 2 x 1 MINUTE of flight time for 3 young ladies.

To cap it all off, got my email today, and her certificate isn't attached as it should be! Now having to ask for that as well. Could it get any worse?

We're naturally upset to read this review - it's very rare that we receive so few stars. Nonetheless, feedback is always gratefully received as it helps us get better each and every day - and we very much welcome the opportunity to respond in such instances too. We don't have any record of your feedback being reported on the day to any members of staff, so thank you for highlighting this now. We do offer a 'satisfaction guarantee', whereby (on the day) if a customer feels we were anything less than great, and it is reported to us on the same day, we WILL put that right immediately. These things tend to be best handled on the day by a Manager who can address any concerns instantly. In your case, if the young ladies did not fly for the time that was paid for, we could have flown them again before you'd left, or arranged an alternative date to return. As we are getting this feedback 'post-experience' it is of course slightly more challenging for us to investigate things like 'flight length received', but you have our commitment that we will do our best if you are able to send us more details including the booking reference number. Please email us on tgoffin@iFLYworld.co.uk, with your booking reference number, so we can investigate your comments further. Regarding pricing, yes, we have indeed reviewed these since your previous visit 4 years ago, although we are not 100% sure where your price for 2 x 2 flights (@ £45 in peak times) has come from. It could be that you were able to secure a super-special promotion or discount, although on the rare occasions that deals are available, they're typically valid midweek and term time only. Nonetheless, we do take on board that you ultimately feel we are expensive compared to your last visit. As you suggest, our experiences during Covid-19 (with around 12 months of forced closure) required us to position ourselves in such a way that our business is sustainable moving forward after the worst trading conditions we've ever seen. With those closures, dramatically increasing energy prices and an increased cost base generally (with very little Government support) - we were forced to review our prices like so many other businesses, leisure or otherwise. That said, we wholeheartedly believe that we represent incredible value for money and are extremely competitive within the leisure industry for such a unique experience. Ultimately - we feel we are fairly priced overall. Regarding the certificate, we'll look into why that was not attached. As previously mentioned, please do email us with the booking details so we can properly look into your experience and the timings. You have our commitment that we'll investigate fully. So much fun!
It felt amazing defying gravity! Not scary at all. Our instructor was brilliant, and it looked like all the others were just as good. So reassuring and smiley. An additional piece of feedback is that my partners goggles came off on her 2nd go when they take you up the higher bit so she could only part do it. But our instructor got her back in at the end to give her a proper go at it which was just so kind. Great customer service and experience, highly recommend.
