We had an amazing time! First experience completing an escape room and we all had so much fun. Really glad we chose this place, Isabella was fantastic and explained everything so clearly. The room was a lot of fun.

I always recommend Blackout Escape Rooms whenever anyone is in the area as their games are completely unique.
For me, the best games have great gamesmastering (tailored to your ability, eg. We choose to ask for clues rather than let them be sent 'automatically'), a great story/set and a variety of puzzles. We've loved Cabin, and Candy shop so were back for Hostage.
Hostage is special as there are two rooms so you can go into battle on escape times with a larger group. While made to look dingy, the room was exceptionally clean - something I really appreciate, especially when there is a bit of 'scrabbling about' as part of the game.
The puzzles were varied and in keeping with the story - there were two particularly nice ones that were well thought out, and heightened your sense of immersion.
We're plucking up the courage to do Nightmare, but with the hosts being so welcoming (as my husband said, they were definitely the most polite kidnappers we've ever had ;) ) we'll definitely be back.
Highly recommended, great games, really well executed.

Great host (Tracey) who was happy to help us and answer our questions at the end. Great room - did the Hostage room. Lots of different types of puzzles and great flow to the escape room. Would recommend!

We chose to do the ‘nightmare’ room. The whole experience was fantastic, staff were so lovely and helpful. It was our first time doing an escape room so we weren’t sure what to expect but it was great fun. We liked it so much we booked another one as soon as we came out.

This was our first ever escape room, we did the Hostage room (2 of us).
The host was great, he explained everything for us and gave us some handy tips throughout the room when we were a little stuck!
We got out with 1:24 to spare. Really enjoyed the experience and we will definitely do escape rooms again! Really reccomend this venue, it was great, really high quality room with lots of puzzles and twists and interactive elements.

No actors, but at one point someone opened the door in an attempt to scare us before quickly locking the door again
Would the cabin in the woods be suitable for 14 year olds?

Hello, we have had children aged 14 play the game before. But please be aware that the game is played in the dark and has some jump scares that some children can become scared with. As long as the parents are aware of what’s in the game and the child feels up to it we will allow them to play cabin in the woods.

Hello yes there are some jump scare moments in the game but sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t. It will all depend on the person playing the game.
