Hare Krishna.
I had the most amazing tour today with my wonderful guide, Padma. I toured around the exquisite grounds, even feed a cow in the sanctuary! I joined the 12:30 Darshan which was a real treat; singing in worship with the worshippers. The free Prasadam lunch was delicious too. I cannot wait to return to soak up the good vibes once again.

This is a very peaceful place to visit, As soon as you enter the gates I had a sense of peace and calmness. The Woodland dedicated to George Harrison is surrounded by a lake where I felt a very therapeutic. You have a Bakery and gift shop on site and you can also visit and feed the cows in the cowshed. The people there are very friendly. You do not have to follow Krishna but it is up to you. I got hooked and I have now got my sights on going and taking part in the culture. You can also do courses and go to the many events they hold there. The people are very friendly and treat you like one of their own. So when they say Hare Krishna to you say it back. I have learned many things since going there and I have been going there for a few months now. There are also free vegetarian meals provided too.

Me & my Husband visited the Bhaktivedanta Manor last month, we booked a tour of the beautiful Hare Krishna Temple. To say we were warmly welcomed is an understatement, we have never felt so welcome anywhere like that before!
We had the most beautiful lady as our tour guide, we drank tea, the lovely lady gave us the history about the Hare Krishna movement along with prayer beads & books. We have remained good friends, all the beautiful souls at the temple were such wonderful people & so kind.
We were lucky enough to see their 1:00pm worship & what a beautiful experience that was. Everyone was so happy, singing & dancing, the atmosphere in the temple was electric! Just when we thought it couldn't get any better we were then invited for the most beautiful vegetarian meal we have ever had!
The whole day felt incredible & we will be returning next year.

We visited this temple recently. Its outer structure is of a large Medieval house. So, at first my aunt and uncle who are not from UK wondered whether we have reached the right place or not :)
There were cushion seats to sit instead of sitting directly on the floor and spend some time in the temple. The darshan of Lord was beautiful as always. Continuous singing and playing of musical instruments as a form of Bhakti by few foreign females dressed in Saari made the environment terrific.
The premises was clean. We also got freshly prepared prasad that too of many variety in the next building. There was option to sit and eat or take it outside in the garden. Also, there was a temple food shop which was economical. We had tea, samosas and kachoris. All were delicious.
Location:- You can get down from Jubilee Line at the end stop of it i.e. Stanmore station and then walk for long from there, take a bus or spend 10-15£ and hire a taxi if you are in a group.

It is a pleasant spiritual place of worship. Children love the temple and play area. ISKCON management and devotees are very nice and polite. I learn about our Hindu religion and Krishna & Ram and teaching of Bhagwat Gita. Everyone is wonderful and very charming here. Newly built Haveli is a masterpiece. It feels like I am in heaven.

We have been coming to Bhaktivedanta Manor for the last 40 years. The site which includes a superb Hindu Shrine, gardens and farm has been developed over the years. It's owned by the Hare Krishna movement and the Manor was a donation from Beetle George Harrison. It's a temple and theological college which is open to the public, who come in huge numbers.
The atmosphere is electric, the vibe is divine and the attention afforded by the monks and nuns who live here is caring and attentive. The worship is so calm but inspiring and you leave feeling happy and refreshed. Probably Europe's premier Hindu centre!

they offer Prashad but not sure of the times. There is a shop where food can be brought and their cakes are a delight probably not as extensive as the neesden with their great takeaway device.

Oh, I missed the most important thing. This temple is all about guiding us from this temporary body and planet to the eternal, spiritual planets, and our eternal spiritual self. Same soul, but no labels !!
That is the unique thing about this powerful spiritual place. It is a door to the eternal planets. The residents are all working on going through the portal of leaving this body, and revealing their real original eternal identity.
It amazes me that such deep thinking is going on so close to home, and we dont have to go far to find it.

Hi Hazel,
It's open to everyone.
Here are the Darshan Times:
There are several services throughout the day at Bhaktivedanta Manor to which everyone is welcome to attend. Aside from these times, Bhaktivedanta Manor building is open daily from 4.30am—9.30pm for pilgrims and guests.
4.30-4.55am – Mangal Arati
Mangala-arati is the first temple ceremony of the day. It begins at 4:30am and is considered mangala, or ‘auspicious’ for all who participate. The devotees sing beautiful prayers glorifying the spiritual master and the Hare Krishna maha-mantra.
4.55-5.15am – Tulasi-arati
This ceremony is right after mangala-arati. Tulasi is a sacred plant which is very dear to the Lord, and worship of Tulasi-devi is most beneficial. Tulasi-arati is performed like this: The devotees sing prayers to Tulasi-devi while one devotee offers her arati with incense, ghee lamp, and flowers. When the song is finished, the devotees circumambulate Tulasi-devi and offer her water by pouring some drops at her root.
7.00-7.05am – Deity Greeting
After the Deities have been worshiped in private, They give Their audience (darshana) to the devotees and the public, who then can see the shrine and offer worship and prayers. This is accompanied by a recorded singing of the Govindam prayers of the Brahma-samhita. The priest offers a short arati ceremony with ghee lamp, incense, chamara, and, in warm weather, a peacock fan.
7.10am – Guru-Puja
At this time, as members of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness we offer our obeisances to Srila Prabhupada as the instructing guru for all devotees. We are eternally indebted to him for single-handedly bringing Krishna to the Western world and thus giving everyone the opportunity to become a lover of God.
During the guru-puja, the devotees sing prayers glorifying the spiritual master and offer flower petals and obeisances at the lotus feet of Srila Prabhupada.
7.30am – Srimad-Bhagavatam Class
After all the singing and dancing the devotees sit down and listen to a lecture on Srimad-Bhagavatam. The speaker reads a verse and Srila Prabhupada’s explanation of it, and then elaborates on the topics discussed there. At the end of the class, there are usually questions or comments. Thus an interesting and enlightening discussion takes place.
12.30-12.55pm – Raj Bhoga Arati
The raja-bhoga-arati follows the noon offering of food to the Deities. It lasts for about 25 minutes. The priest offers incense, ghee lamp, water, cloth, flowers, camara, and (in warm weather) also a peacock fan.
*Due to weddings on Saturdays, the facility for darshan (during this arati) is restricted. Single file queueing is likely and you will only see the Deities for a few moments.
4.20-4.30pm – Dhupa Arati
This arati lasts for 10 minutes. The priest offers incense, flowers, camara, and (in warm weather) also a peacock fan. Food offered to the Deities is usually fruits.
*Due to weddings on Fridays, the facility for darshan (during this arati) is restricted. Single file queueing is likely and you will only see the Deities for a few moments.
7.00-7.25pm – Sandya Arati
This is also known as Gaura-arati. The devotees sing Sri Gaura-arati–a joyful song glorifying Lord Chaitanya and His associates. It lasts for about 25 minutes.
7.30pm-8:30 Bhagavad-Gita Class
Conducted in a similar manner to the morning Bhagavatam class, evening Bhagavad-gita class draws in congregation members as well as the residents.
(except Friday & Sundays)
9.00-9.10pm – Shayan Arati
The final arati of the day allows all the devotees to have a last opportunity to see the Deities and offer their prayers.
9.30pm – Temple closes
Please note that due to weddings on certain Friday afternoons, Saturday mornings and Saturday afternoons, the facility for darshan is restricted. Single file queueing is likely and you will only see the Deities for a few moments.
I am not terribly religious but would like to visit with my young daughter to see the house and grounds. Is this OK? I don't wish to be disrespectful

It's a wonderful place to visit, and your daughter might enjoy watching the cows get milked by hand - it will be a rare opportunity to see the respectful treatment of dairy cows! Buy some treats in the shop, and even stay for a delicious vegetarian meal (offered freely and with joy by the residents). The grounds are lovely, especially George's Garden, in honour of George Harrison who bought the property for his teacher and followers. You will see where they prepare the food to be sent into London to feed 1000 homeless. At first a bit quirky as seen from an outsider, you will be amazed by the love and devotion of this alternative community.
