Very well laid out museum containing lots of interesting info about trade, shipbuilding and fishing in the Lancaster and Morecambe area. Information on Lancaster's involvement in the slave trade. Located a short pleasant walk from the city centre.

I was amazed with my visit today. Great value for money, very nice staff and a great story to tell of Lancasters Maritime History.

Literally one of my favourite museums and one of my favourite places in Lancaster. The city itself has a lot of horrible parts but the parts where its beautiful history has been kept and remembered and celebrated is magnificent and this museum is one of them. Would highly recommend the visit and it's free to residents!

The maritime museum is a few minutes walk down hill from the railway station. The museum is over a few floors and there is lift access to the upper floors. A good cafe for light bites is in the Warehouse. The museum offers a good video introduction to Lancaster and Morecambe Bay and then tells of the maritime history with a good range of exibits. Some interactive exhibitions and good displays. Interesting and well presented story of the Triangle Trade which is sensitively told.

Housed in the old Customs House, telling the maritime history of Morecambe as well as Lancaster. Larger than it seems, turn a corner and there's another exhibition. Enough to keep children occupied and a lovely cafe serving leaf tea. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Small entrance fee worth every penny, would have paid more.

Well worth the walk from the railway station to visit this very interesting museum. I had no idea of the maritime history of Lancaster and surrounding area - such a lot of it and presented in a very accessible way. The staff were very friendly too. Do pay them a visit!

Fine historic building with plenty of information about Lancaster's docks and ship building. Trade is displayed in detail, including references to the slave trade. The top floor of the warehouse has displays about modern gas rigs and transport.

Interesting displays and the introductory film was good. Very modest entry charge and you can easily spend a few hours here.
