A nice walk from the city centre with a couple of canalside pubs along the way that are ok. At the aqueduct you can also join the Lune trail along the old railway line from Morecambe.

What a brilliant piece of construction, get great views from the aqueduct. For visitors who use public transport, the easiest way to access the top is to get the 49 bus from the bus station, runs approx every half hour, alight at Woodlands Road and the towpath is only a few hundred yards away leading to the aqueduct just a couple of minutes walk. Perfect timing some long boats appeared which was a great sight.

The aqueduct is a quiet place to visit, it has a spectacular view from the top of the aqueduct by the canal, the canal was clear and it was lovely to see a couple of long boats travelling down it, my son enjoyed skimming stones in the water whilst my dog tried on many occasion to jump in without succeeding, though she did swim a little in the water below. Lovely walk with lots of wild plants and stone decoration to take photos of.

Lovely aqueduct. Looks great from the river path and then you can walk up and over the aqueduct along the canal towpath. According to the signage there are otters in the river near the aqueduct but I wasn’t lucky enough to spot one! If you walk out the other side of the car park there is a largely unsigned little park which features the most amazing bit of hedge building I’ve ever seen - a circle of stones surrounded by a living hedge about 2m high.

This is a very nice looking aqueduct, easily accessible from the nearby car park.
it provides several lovely photo-ops.
Given the fact that Lancaster has very few attractions to offer, this one is a good bet.

Free parking and a short walk to this stunning engineering feat. Plenty of information boards and a wonderful flat walk that all can enjoy.

Oh my goodness - I was in heaven admiring this piece of civil engineering. Well worth the mile or so walk out of Lancaster along the beautiful Lancaster Canal. It is amazingly beautiful and worth a visit for all to admire it's architectural elegance.

A fascinating part of our industrial heritage. Very peaceful walking along the canal and over the aqueduct. Some lovely views.

A beautiful sight. So pleased we stopped off to see it. We parked in a housing estate on coronation way (not sure why Waze took us there) and cut through the trees for it to appear to us. It really is beautiful.

Myself and my partner had stayed the night just down the road from here at the Premier Inn February 2019 and after check out we popped down parking in the small car park and taking a little walk to check out the Aqueduct. It was nice walk and there were some nice views with some good photo opportunities.

Where to park on the Skerton side to walk across? couldn't find anywhere suitable. Also can you park on the other side off Caton road? how long does it take to walk through to Lancaster (my mum is 85 so hopefully not too far!)
