The catholic cathedral is a few minutes walk from the town centre. The entrance is in the corner, up the ramp and then the door straight ahead of you is open. Interesting Victorian catholic church.

My twin brother Stephen and I were heading to The White Cross Pub and passed Lancaster Cathedral, what a wonderful looking cathedral this is.
Lancaster Cathedral, aka Cathedral Church Of St Peter and also St Peter's Cathedral is without a shadow of a doubt one of the most beautiful and famous landmarks in Lancaster, constructed between 1857 - 1901 from designs from architect E. G. Paley with later additions added by architectural team Austin & Paley, built in the Gothic Revival style of architecture that is so pleasing on the eye, this beautiful Grade II listed building is superb to view ,when we visited there was reconstruction work being carried out on the cathedral so we couldn't gain access but we were more than content to view the cathedral before moving onto the pub ,its easy to locate along Balmoral Road,most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area or planning to visit Lancaster.

Nice little cathedral, very interesting. Well worth a visit and only a short stroll from the city centre but very quiet too

It is quite a walk uphill to the Cathedral from the town, found on a street corner. There is renovation work being completed on the outside when we visited and we found it difficult to find the entrance due to building materials outside.
Worth a look inside. Beautiful windows and very peaceful compared to the traffic noise outside.

Like most dated or period churches, this is the same. Its quiet place, quite large inside. I walk round only occasionally but beautiful when I do.

What a beautiful Church!
It's so very peaceful and the Architecture is beautiful to look at.

The Cathedral is a Catholic Cathedral started in the 19th century and finished in 1924. It is pretty plain but the Baptistry on the left hand side opposite the altar is really spectacular. Well worth the extra 200 yards walk from the council chambers - and access to the canal walk is from the bridge one street north of it.

Away from the centre of town it is surprisingly small for a cathedral. It is free to look round and is very peaceful.
