St. James's Church is an interesting and striking church, dominating the view of Chipping Campden. It was, as with much in the area, built with the wealth of the Medieval wool trade. It has some impressive tombs inside.

I called in on a brief visit to Chipping. The church was looking good and was fairly popular with foreign visitors.

Called into the church while in the town, very picturesque with nice views, inside was a nice man to tell you about the church and history, there is a stunning crypt inside and it is very peaceful and worth a visit

I did not go in, I just took photos from outside. Afternoon sun made photo opportunity. Loved the colors.

This is a splendid old church with a lot to discover. It felt like a place of worship rather than a museum which is always a good sign. There’s a medieval bishop’s cope and stunning embroidered altar cloths behind curtains to protect from light damage - well worth a look. Needlework kneelers are a super mixture of traditional and modern (look out for the penguin ones). And if you are a person of faith, it’s a lovely place for a quiet prayer.

Es la típica iglesia de un pueblo inglés que puedes tener en mente. La imagen se asocia perfectamente con esa idea. La casualidad hizo que viera la salida de los fieles de una misa y a la estampa solo falta Miss Marple saliendo por la puerta. Poco mas puedo decir de esta prototípica iglesia rural de Inglaterra. El interior no me pareció una gran cosa y, para mí, pocos motivos da para su visita.

Quiet meditative space. Would be lovely if some of the older gravestones could be cleaned and preserved. It was all set up for a concert and we couldn’t see the full church properly but it is very well kept

The outside and grounds are beautiful! The inside is a little underwhelming and does not highlight the potential for visitors. Random stuff in random locations felt a little like a yard sale. Good to pop in but missed opportunity to match the inside to the outside.

Beautiful Church which was made even more special by the lady volunteer who brought St James' to life with her kindness and friendly nature. Def worth a visit if in CC.
