Food and service excellent . Staff extremely helpful and cheerful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was hot and plentiful. They kept bringing more food out to put on the buffet.

Came for drink and garlic bread. Sat in table with no reservation sign.in it.
Sean cam along with his colleague asking me what was the ussue and tat I was on a reserved rablecand I should move now. No decorum with the fact that I was in the middle of our disgustingly made garlic bread. No just move. He did not care about how we felt just kept repeating at the table was reserved. No reservation was seen by us when we sat down.
Sean is a horrible person with an attitude that stinks. I asked for his second name he would not give saying he was the only Sean at the Metropolitan.
Sean is not a team leader. He will destroy the reputation of a venue we love and have been coming to for 35 years.
A horrible experience from a horrible person.

Good but not great , visited for Sunday lunch food of a good standard, visited with my parents whom are both visually impaired, made a request for the meat on the Sunday lunch to be cut up which did not happen, the waitress apologised & offered to cut up at the table which i declined , the whole reason for this request is to not bring attention to my parents disability, no other restaurant or pub we have eaten out at has refused this request

Well run pub with excellent food offer in what has become quite a foodie area. Well worth a visit and sensibly priced.

Come here all the time as closest pub to home. Mel and her team are great. Good selection of beer and whether you have a pizza outside or a good old fashioned pub dinner indoors it’s always good.

Nice place to meet your friends - really big anf cosy inside. The best thing is the pizza of the day for a reduced price (perfect for people like me who love all pizzas of all toppings ;)
Good in summer with the outside area but always quite packed and hard to get a seat unless you go early

This is my local pub, I love it! Staff are always really welcoming and food is incredible (offers are good too!) would 100% recommend. Great for families with young children too!!

My son and I had lunch at the Metropolitan on Saturday. We both ordered pan roasted garlic stuffed chicken breast, potato gnocchi, roast garlic marinated feta, petit pois, herb cream sauce which cost £13.50 each. The chicken breast was not stuffed with garlic. It was one side of a breast with the fleshy part of the wing sticking up. It was a bit difficult to cut and was totally tasteless. It was most certainly not stuffed with garlic or anything else for that matter. We each got two tiny pieces of feta cheese in the sauce which were about the size of sugar lumps. The potato gnocchi were tasteless as was the herb sauce. In fact, the herb was so sparce I couldn't identify it. We did complain. Also the restaurant area itself smelt peculiar. We will definitely not be going back.

Ate here earlier today. I had the Tikka Tofu sandwich - a flatbread with tofu and yoghurt and other Mediterranean flavours. The flatbread must have been a brick in a former life and was pretty inedible. The Tofu also had been cooked to withstand re-entryfrom space and tasted like it had been wafted past an open jar of cheap tikka sauce or possibly, creosote.The 'yoghurt' - I think it was supposed to have mint in it - tasted synthetic. Although the food is usually good a few points are always below par. A case in point are the chips. They taste nice enough but always look like the dregs from the bottom of the chippy fryer - small with lots of odd bits of chip and batter. Otherwise know as the 'scrapings.' I have yet to see a chip there longer than an inch or wider than a quarter of an inch.
