This is a large Gothic style church situated in the historic city centre of Colmar. Historically, it seems there have been church buildings at this location since at least 1000 AD. However, the building you see today was constructed between 1234 and 1365. Opening hours are 8am to 6.45pm (Mon to Sat),10am to 7pm (Sundays) if you want to visit and see the church while visiting the city.
It is a fine example of Alsace Gothic architecture from the Middle Ages and there are some nice things to see inside including original stained glass windows, choir ambulatory, altarpieces and Baroque era organ. Worth 10 minutes of your time to browse the interior and a few more looking over the facade, towers, portals and other Gothic aspects of the exterior as well.

Most important religious building, its inhabitants call it Cathedral. Gothic architecture. in 1572 a fire destroyed the spire. The roof was redone with colored majolica.

Having seen Strasbourg Cathedral it was enlightening to see here described as the second largest in the province after it.
Beautiful in all senses its Gothic style is extraordinary. From the fabulous exterior including facades to the wonders within.

The Collegiate Church St-Martin shows off its majestic grandeur and has a tripartite façade with buttresses and flanked on the right by a bell tower. Entering the interior you are fascinated by the clarity, unity and almost organic treatment of the space.
